XAG/USD Eyes Industrial Demand Boost From Data-Center Power Race

Silver's dual identity as both a monetary and industrial metal is back in focus as global electricity demand accelerates. The IEA projects data-center power consumption alone will more than double to roughly 945 TWh by 2030, comparable to Japan's total usage today, a trend that directly supports silver's electronics and grid-infrastructure demand base.

This buildout is forcing power planners to rethink cost models, since a plant deemed cheap in 2035 can't meet a data center's connection needs by 2028. That mismatch is pushing faster deployment of grid and renewable technologies, both silver-intensive sectors, into near-term investment cycles.

For XAG/USD watchers, the structural shift toward rapid electrification adds a longer-term industrial demand layer beneath current price action, independent of near-term safe-haven flows.
