Risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Between 74–89% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with providers of this type. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.

What Is GKFX?

GKFX is an online broker offering multi-asset trading in forex, indices, commodities, share, and CFDs. It also offers a limited range of cryptocurrency pairs through the MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms. The brand was originally established in London in the early 2010s. The broker operated as a UK- and Malta-regulated entity for several years to serve European retail clients directly. The original corporate structure transformed into a group-level reorganization. Following that GKFX as a London-based retail and professional business was reestablished to Trive in 2023. This entity got cancelled from FCA authorization as the group exited UK retail activity.

The GKFX brand continued its operation internationally as a separate corporate structure, most commonly marketed today as GKFX Prime. This entity is licensed by the Financial Services Commission of the British Virgin Islands (FSC BVI) and by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia (SECC), with client-facing operations run through GKFX Cambodia Co Ltd. BrokersProfile tested this entity for this review. Most of the retail clients nowadays get registered under this GKFX entity except a few markets that still use the older setup.

This is an essential distinction, as if a trader searching "GKFX regulation" in 2026 will know that FCA and MFSA oversight is no longer applied to the current entity accepting new clients. We have mentioned this fact in our regulation section below as it is the single most essential one for GKFX clients before they deposit their funds.

GKFX offers three live account tiers – Classic, Prime (sometimes marketed as VIP), and ECN Zero. Additionally, it offers an unlimited-duration demo account and a swap-free Islamic option available across all three. The broker supports MT4 and MT5 only; it does not currently offer a proprietary platform, cTrader, or TradingView integration. It offers around 400 tradable products across forex, indices, commodities, shares, and a small crypto CFD range.

For this review, BrokersProfile opened a live funded ECN Zero account with GKFX Prime, deposited $200 via card, and traded through the account for 21 consecutive days between May and June 2026 to capture spread, execution, deposit/withdrawal, and support performance under real market conditions.

How We Reviewed GKFX

BrokersProfile conducted this GKFX review over a 21-day live testing period in May–June 2026. We opened a live funded ECN Zero account with GKFX Prime. We funded our account with $200 via debit card. We opened a Classic account separately with the same verification profile to compare spread-inclusive pricing against the ECN Zero commission model. We did not use demo account data at any point in the spread, execution, or cost sections of this review. Every figure mentioned below was taken from a live trade ticket on real capital.

BrokersProfile maintains full editorial independence. Any affiliate relationship with GKFX does not influence our scores, findings, or conclusions.

Spread Monitoring

We monitored live spreads across 21 consecutive trading days on both the Classic and ECN Zero account. We sampled spreads at 5-minute intervals across three daily sessions: the Asian session (00:00–08:00 UTC), the London session (08:00–16:00 UTC), and the London–New York overlap (13:00–17:00 UTC). We recorded all data directly from the MT5 trade ticket across five instruments: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, XAU/USD (Gold), and US30 (Dow Jones).

Execution Speed Testing

We placed 240 live market orders across forex majors, Gold, and one equity index CFD on the live ECN Zero account. We measured fill time from order submission to confirmed fill in milliseconds on every order. We recorded slippage direction and magnitude wherever we noticed the difference between the fill price and the requested price. We logged every requote across the testing window.

Customer Support Mystery Shopping

We contacted GKFX support through live chat, email, and phone. We created five situations including, minimum deposit requirements by account type, ECN Zero commission structure, current regulatory status of the entity onboarding new clients, Islamic account setup, and MT5 EA compatibility. We scored each interaction independently on response time, accuracy, professionalism, and first-contact resolution.

Regulatory Verification

We manually checked GKFX's active licenses against official public registers in June 2026, including the FSC British Virgin Islands register and the SECC Cambodia public register. We also checked the FCA Financial Services Register for the historical GKFX-linked entity to confirm its current authorization status, given the brand's name change history in the UK/EU market.

Our Testing Methodology

Testing Pillar

What We Measure and How

1. Regulatory Verification

We manually cross-checked every license claim against official public registers, recorded license number, status, and verification date, and checked the historical FCA-linked entity for current authorization status.

2. Live Spread Monitoring

21-day independent spread sampling at 5-minute intervals across three daily sessions, recording minimum, maximum, average, and session-segmented spreads per instrument on live funded accounts.

3. Execution Speed Testing

240 live market orders placed on a funded account during peak liquidity hours, measuring order-to-fill time in milliseconds, slippage direction/magnitude, and requote frequency.

4. Cost Analysis

Total trading cost beyond the headline spread: commission structure, overnight swap rates, currency conversion fees, inactivity fees, and withdrawal costs across two trader profiles.

5. Platform Evaluation

Practical use of MT4 and MT5 for a minimum of two weeks, assessing charting depth, order type availability, mobile feature parity, EA capability, and platform-level limitations.

6. Customer Support Mystery Shopping

Multi-channel testing across five standardized query scenarios via live chat, email, and phone, scored on response time, accuracy, professionalism, and first-contact resolution rate.

7. User Sentiment Review

Analysis of 100+ verified user reviews across Trustpilot and WikiFX, segmented by rating tier to identify recurring positive and negative themes.

What We Found During Our Testing

Spreads

GKFX offers different spread cost depending on its account type. We recorded a 1.1 pip average on EUR/USD across the full 21-day window on the Classic account. Spread increased to 1.4 pips during the Asian session and tightening to 0.9 pips during the London–New York overlap. This is a commission-free, spread-inclusive account. GKFX's spreads are slightly higher than many competing commission-free brokers. However, it is closer to XM's Standard pricing than to Pepperstone or ThinkMarkets' equivalent tiers.

We recorded a 0.2 pip average on EUR/USD on the ECN Zero account, with a flat $10 round-turn commission per standard lot. That produces an all-in cost of approximately $12.00 per standard lot on EUR/USD. It is higher than the $7–$8 all-in cost typical of IC Markets Raw, Pepperstone Razor, or ThinkMarkets ThinkZero at the same pip level. GKFX's higher active-trading cost is majorly driven by its commission structure rather than the raw spread.

EUR/USD spreads on the ECN Zero account widened to 4.1 pips during a mid-May 2026 US CPI release, normalizing within roughly 50 seconds. The Classic account reached 6.8 pips on the same event window. It was a wider increase than we typically record on comparable no-commission accounts at larger brokers.

Execution

We placed 240 live market orders on the ECN Zero account across forex majors, Gold, and the US30 index CFD.

A 162 ms average during the London session is practical for swing and position trading. However, it is significantly slower than the sub-100 ms standards we've recorded at Pepperstone, IC Markets, and ThinkMarkets. The gap between positive slippage (7.4%) and negative slippage (10.5%) is wider than the near-symmetrical splits. We consider it as a strong indicator of neutral order routing. This asymmetry is worth considering for scalpers. Though, it is not much extreme to suggest systematic dealing-desk behavior. We recorded four requotes across 240 orders that is a higher rate than the near-zero results we've recorded from dedicated ECN specialists.

Account Opening

Our account registration process took approximately 14 minutes. We entered our details and were routed to the international (BVI/Cambodia) entity by default, as expected given our test location. We uploaded a passport and a utility bill through the client portal. Verification was confirmed within 1 business day.

Our first $200 deposit via debit card cleared and appeared in the MT5 account within 11 minutes. We didn’t encounter any additional verification step on the initial deposit.

Withdrawals

We processed two withdrawal transactions:

Withdrawal 1 - $80 via debit card: Submitted Tuesday at 09:40 UTC. Processed by GKFX within 26 hours; card settlement took further 3 business days. Total time: 4 business days.

Withdrawal 2 - $60 via bank transfer: Submitted Friday. Processing confirmation took 2 business days, with the bank transfer itself clearing a further 2 business days. Total time: 4 business days.

GKFX did not charge a withdrawal fee on either transaction. As we tested, withdrawals below $50 are not supported.

Our query about the entity's current regulatory status required escalation. The first live chat agent gave a general answer referencing the broker's "international licensing". He didn’t mention a specific regulator or license number. We received a follow-up email response 14 hours later that confirmed the FSC BVI license number directly. We consider this a meaningful support gap. Regulatory status is an essential question a frontline agent should be able to answer immediately and exactly. This is the one query in our five-scenario test that a prospective client is most likely to ask before funding an account.

Our Honest Take at BrokersProfile

GKFX is a name that carries more history than its current corporate structure represents, and that gap is the defining fact of this review. Most of the retail client still associate GKFX with FCA and MFSA. However, as mentioned before, the broker has moved its UK/EU retail book under the Trive brand. Though the GKFX continues to operate internationally through a British Virgin Islands and Cambodia licensing structure. This is not a red flag on its own – offshore regulation is common across the industry. However, it is a different risk profile from the GKFX historical name. The prospective clients need to understand this before funding an account.

GKFX is a normal operator based on its trading conditions. We recorded a $12.00 all-in cost on EUR/USD via ECN Zero and a 162 ms average execution during our 21-day live test. Both these numbers sit behind the ECN specialists we reviewed, including IC Markets, Pepperstone, and ThinkMarkets. The Classic account's 1.1 pip average is practical for casual, low-frequency trading. However, it is not cost-competitive for anyone trading more than a few lots per week.

Account flexibility and accessibility are the most prominent features of GKFX. These include a free Classic account, a low $200 entry point to the ECN Zero tier, a swap-free option available across the board, and leverage up to 1:400 for clients onboarded through the international entity. Traders who prefer low-cost entry and flexible leverage over top-tier regulatory protection and efficient execution, GKFX remains a practical option – as long as traders know about the regulatory protections available under their chosen entity.

Our Verdict: GKFX earns a BP Score™ of 66/100. The score represents a broker with functional infrastructure, reasonable account flexibility, and no major operational failures during our test window. However, it offsets by regulatory coverage that no longer includes a tier-1 authority for new retail clients. Additionally, it lags behind top competitors in execution speed and trading costs, and a support interaction on our single most important test question. Its current regulatory status should have been faster and more precise. We'd recommend cautious beginners and anyone looking for capital protection toward a Tier-1-regulated alternative first. GKFX is a practical option for traders who have already accepted an offshore risk profile and are shopping primarily on leverage and entry cost.

Is GKFX Safe? – Regulation & Safety

GKFX's regulatory position requires more explanation than most brokers we review. The brand name has outlived the corporate structure it was originally associated with.

What Changed

The original GKFX Group traded in the UK and EU under FCA and MFSA authorization for roughly a decade. In 2023, the group's UK and European retail and professional business was rebranded to Trive, with the Malta entity renamed Trive Financial Services Europe Limited and the UK entity renamed Trive Financial Services UK Limited. The UK entity then applied to cancel its FCA authorization in mid-2024 as the group exited the UK retail and professional markets. In practical terms, the FCA-regulated version of GKFX that many traders remember no longer exists as an active, client-onboarding entity.

Retail clients use GKFX brand name commercially through a separate international structure, marketed as GKFX Prime and operated via GKFX Cambodia Co Ltd. BrokersProfile tested this entity, and it will be used by the majority of new sign-ups today.

Both of GKFX's currently active licenses – FSC BVI and SECC Cambodia are Tier-3 offshore authorizations. These regulators do not operate a statutory investor compensation scheme comparable to the UK's FSCS or the EU's Investor Compensation Fund. They neither impose the leverage caps, negative balance protection mandates, or capital capability requirements associated with Tier-1 regulators such as the FCA, ASIC, or CySEC.

This does not mean GKFX is operating illegally. We verified its active licenses on the relevant public registers at the time of testing. However, it does mean the safety net available to a GKFX client is different, and weak, as compared to a Tier-1-regulated broker. We would encourage any prospective client to independently verify the current license status and entity name directly on the FSC BVI and SECC registers before depositing funds, as offshore corporate structures change frequently.

Security Practices

Segregated Client Accounts

GKFX holds client funds in accounts segregated from company operational capital. Segregation requirements under Tier-3 offshore regulators are audited normally than under Tier-1 frameworks. This protection should be treated as a stated policy rather than an independently verified guarantee.

Negative Balance Protection

GKFX advertises negative balance protection for retail clients on standard account types. We were unable to independently test this feature during our live testing window. As to do this, we would have required deliberately over-leveraging a live funded account into negative equity.

Risk Management Tools

Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication is available on the GKFX client portal login. We did not find biometric login support (Face ID/fingerprint) on either the MT4 or MT5 mobile apps. However, it has the device-level lock screen on iOS and Android interfaces.

Data Encryption

GKFX's client portal and trading platforms use standard TLS encryption for data in transit. We did not identify any published information on the specific data center or infrastructure partner GKFX uses for order routing. We consider it a transparency gap relative to brokers who publish Equinix or similar co-location details.

Risk Disclosures

GKFX displays the standard CFD risk warning on its website and marketing materials, matched with regulatory expectations even for its offshore licensing tier. The broker has disclosed negative balance protection and margin call/stop-out levels in the account terms.

The Classic account's 1.10 pip EUR/USD average is higher than the industry standard for commission-free accounts, and above comparable tiers at XM (1.60 pips is XM's headline figure, though live-tested averages at other brokers we've reviewed run tighter). On the ECN Zero account, the 0.20 pip spread-only average is competitive on its own. However, the effective cost increases more than the ECN specialists in the comparison table once the $10 round-turn commission is included.

Real Cost of a Trade – Two Trader Profiles

Profile A – Beginner Trader, EUR/USD, Classic Account, 1 Standard Lot

Average spread: 1.10 pips | Commission: $0.00 | Total cost per lot: approx. $11.00 | Overnight swap (1 night, long): approx. -$6.40 (variable)

At roughly $11.00 per standard lot, the Classic account's execution cost is higher than ThinkMarkets' Standard account (~$4.20) or Pepperstone's Standard tier. Though, it remains commission-free and requires no minimum deposit. It keeps the entry barrier low for beginners trading small volume.

Profile B – Active Day Trader, EUR/USD, ECN Zero Account, 1 Standard Lot

Average spread: 0.20 pips | Commission (round-turn): $10.00 | Total cost per lot: approx. $12.00 | Overnight swap (1 night, long): approx. -$6.40 (variable)

At approximately $12.00 all-in per standard lot, GKFX's ECN Zero account is roughly 40–50% more expensive than IC Markets Raw (~$7.20), Pepperstone Razor (~$7.90), or ThinkMarkets ThinkZero (~$7.90) on the same pair. For high-frequency scalpers or anyone trading more than a few lots per week, this cost gap compounds quickly. It is the single largest financial argument against choosing GKFX over a dedicated ECN specialist.

GKFX Trading Platforms

GKFX supports MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, available as desktop downloads, a browser-based WebTrader, and native iOS/Android mobile apps. GKFX does not offer a proprietary trading platform, cTrader, or TradingView integration. MT4/MT5 is a competitive choice for traders who specifically want algorithmic and EA-driven trading on a well-established terminal. GKFX will feel relatively limited for traders who value platform diversity or TradingView-native charting.

MetaTrader 4 (MT4)

MT4 is GKFX's most widely used terminal for existing clients, mainly because of its long-standing EA and indicator ecosystem. It supports the full MQL4 environment for custom indicator and Expert Advisor development. It offers 9 timeframes, and includes one-click trading. It is available on Windows desktop, WebTrader, and iOS/Android mobile.

MetaTrader 5 (MT5)

MT5 is GKFX's recommended platform for new account openings. It offers 21 timeframes, an integrated economic calendar, depth-of-market display, and a multi-threaded strategy tester for EA backtesting. GKFX offers a specific Share CFD access through MT5.

What's Missing

GKFX does not currently offer a proprietary mobile-first platform, TradingView order execution, or a built-in signal service as compared to ThinkMarkets or similar mid-tier competitors. Traders who value an integrated research/signal layer inside the trading platform itself will need to look elsewhere or rely on third-party tools alongside MT4/MT5.

GKFX Account Types

GKFX operates a three-tier live account structure – Classic, Prime, and ECN Zero. These accounts are enhanced by an unlimited-duration demo account and a swap-free Islamic option available across all three live tiers.

GKFX Classic Account

The Classic account is GKFX's entry-level, commission-free offering. It requires no minimum deposit and operates on spread-inclusive pricing. We recorded a 1.10 pip EUR/USD average during standard trading hours in our 21-day live test. It is practical and suitable for low-frequency, casual trading but expensive for anyone trading actively. It supports both MT4 and MT5 and is available under the broker's international entity.

GKFX Prime Account

The Prime tier requires a $2,500 minimum deposit and offers tighter spread-inclusive pricing than Classic, without a commission layer. This account is designed for higher-balance clients who prefer predictable, spread-only pricing over commission-based ECN accounts. It is ideal for those who don't want to manage a separate commission calculation on every trade.

GKFX ECN Zero Account

GKFX's ECN Zero account is raw-spread, commission-based tier, opening from $200 in our testing. It carries a $10 round-turn commission per standard lot in exchange for near-raw spreads pulled from the broker's liquidity pool. Our live 21-day test produced a 0.20 pip EUR/USD spread-only average, with an all-in cost of roughly $12.00/lot once commission is included. It is above the $7–$8 range typical of the leading ECN specialists we tested. Traders placing high volumes should run the numbers against a dedicated low-commission ECN broker before committing to this tier.

GKFX Demo Account

Demo account is available on both MT4 and MT5 with a virtual balance of up to $10,000 and no stated expiry time in our testing. It reflects live pricing from the production environment. It is a practical tool for testing strategies before committing real capital. Though we'd recommend cross-checking demo spread behavior against the live spread data in this review, since demo conditions can understate real-market cost.

GKFX Islamic (Swap-Free) Account

Available across all three live account types on request. It replaces overnight swap charges with a fixed administrative fee. This is a standard account for traders in the Middle East, South Asia, and parts of Africa where swap-free conditions are often a hard requirement rather than a preference.

GKFX Markets & Instruments

GKFX offers access to nearly 400 tradable instruments across five main asset classes. This is a low range than large multi-asset competitors like ThinkMarkets (3,500+) or eToro (3,000+). However, it covers the core instruments most retail traders actually use.

Commodity coverage handles the core energy and precious metals contracts most traders need but is thinner on agricultural products than some larger competitors. The 150+ share CFD range is functional for diversification but well short of the 1,000–3,000+ ranges offered by dedicated multi-asset platforms. Crypto coverage, at 10+ pairs, is among the narrowest we've recorded in this review series and will be a limiting factor for traders who want broad digital asset exposure through their forex broker.

GKFX's average EUR/USD fill time of 162 ms places it behind every other broker in our comparison set for this review, including brokers we've classified as mid-tier on execution. This is not prohibiting for swing traders or position traders who hold trades for hours or days, where a 100–150 milliseconds difference has no practical effect on outcome. It is an essential consideration for scalpers and short-term algorithmic strategies, where execution speed directly affects the practicality of strategy.

Slippage Analysis

We observed slippage on 17.9% of all 240 orders during our testing period, with a noticeable tilt toward negative slippage (10.5% negative vs. 7.4% positive). This asymmetry is wider than the near-balanced splits we typically relate with pure STP/ECN order routing and is worth flagging. We recorded 4 requotes across the 240-order sample, a higher rate than the near-zero results we've logged at dedicated ECN brokers in this review series.

Infrastructure

GKFX does not publish detailed information about its order-routing infrastructure or data center partnerships. Therefore, it limits our ability to independently evaluate the technical explanation for the execution gap observed above. Traders considering high-frequency or latency-sensitive strategies should treat this as an open question and test conditions on a demo or small live account before committing meaningful capital.

Opening an Account with GKFX – Step-by-Step

GKFX's account opening process is straightforward, though slightly slower than the fastest brokers we've tested in 2026. The full registration-to-trading process took approximately 14 minutes in our test.

Step # 1: Register

Visit the GKFX website and click "Open Account." Enter name, email, phone number, and country of residence. You will typically be routed to the international (BVI/Cambodia) entity by default. Select your account type (Classic, Prime, or ECN Zero) and base currency.

Step # 2: Set Preferences

Choose your platform (MT4 or MT5) and leverage preference within the international entity's maximum. Enable the Islamic account option here if applicable.

Step # 3: Complete KYC Verification

Upload a government-issued photo ID and a proof of address document dated within the last 3 months. Our verification was confirmed within 1 business day.

Step # 4: Fund Your Account

Log into the client portal and select Deposit. $0 minimum for Classic; $200 for ECN Zero in our test. Card and e-wallet deposits typically credit within minutes to a few hours.

Step # 5: Download Your Platform

Download MT4 or MT5, or access WebTrader via browser. Enter your server credentials and begin trading.

GKFX Deposits & Withdrawals

GKFX operates a no-fee deposit and withdrawal policy on its own side across the payment methods we tested. Bank wire withdrawals may carry third-party bank charges outside GKFX's control, which is standard industry practice.

Our Live Withdrawal Test

We processed an $80 withdrawal from the ECN Zero account to a debit card. We submitted the request via the client portal. GKFX processed it within 26 hours; card network settlement added a further 3 business days, for a total of 4 business days end-to-end. A second $60 withdrawal via bank transfer followed a similar timeline, also completing in 4 business days. GKFX charged no fee on any transaction. These timelines are slower as we've recorded the sub-24-hour e-wallet processing at several Tier-1-regulated competitors. Though, it lies within a reasonable range for a broker of this size.

Inactivity Fee Warning

GKFX applies an inactivity fee to accounts with no trading activity over an extended period. BrokersProfile recommend to confirm the exact threshold and amount directly with support before opening an account, as we found inconsistent public information on the current fee schedule during our research. We'd flag this specifically as a question to ask support before funding an account you don't plan to trade actively.

Supported Base Currencies

GKFX supports three base account currencies in our testing: USD, EUR, and GBP. This is a narrower range than several larger competitors. It means traders outside these three currency zones will incur conversion costs at deposit, which should be factored into total cost calculations.

GKFX Leverage

GKFX's leverage structure mainly depends on a client’s onboarded entity. The international (BVI/Cambodia) structure is the default routing for the large majority of new sign-ups. Clients registered under this entity can access significantly higher leverage than would be available under a Tier-1 regulator's retail caps.

Because GKFX no longer maintains an active Tier-1-regulated retail entity, there is no ESMA- or FCA-capped 1:30 tier currently available under the GKFX brand for new clients. They would have the only effective option of 1:400 international structure. This cuts both ways: traders who specifically want higher leverage will stay here without needing to apply for professional client status. However, traders looking for the investor protections typically associated with regulated retail accounts may not find that option with GKFX.

GKFX's 1:400 maximum sits below several offshore-heavy competitors like HFM and Exness, and also below ASIC/FSC-linked international entities at IC Markets, Pepperstone, and ThinkMarkets. These brokers also maintain a genuine Tier-1 retail arm as an alternative for clients who want it.

Country Availability

GKFX's international entity accepts clients from a broad range of countries across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. However, we recommend to confirm the exact eligibility directly from the entity's licensing structure.

The exclusion of UK and EU retail clients under the current GKFX brand is a direct consequence of the corporate restructuring described in the regulation section above. Traders in those regions who remember GKFX as an FCA/MFSA-regulated broker will now find that business operating under the Trive name instead.

GKFX Customer Support

GKFX offers customer support via live chat, email, and telephone 24/5 schedule rather than round-the-clock weekend coverage.

Our average live chat response time across the five queries was 4 minutes 51 seconds. It is slower than the sub-3-minute averages we've recorded at several Tier-1-regulated competitors in this review series. They resolved our four of five queries satisfactorily on first contact. The regulatory status query was the single most important question a prospective client can ask. This query required escalation and a 14-hour wait for a precise, license-number-backed answer. We consider it the most significant support finding in this review.

Available Languages

GKFX offers support in English and a limited set of additional languages relevant to its core international markets. GKFX supports fewer languages than many larger global brokers.

GKFX Education & Research

GKFX offers limited educational content such as, basic market commentary, an economic calendar (via MT5), and introductory guides covering forex fundamentals and platform usage. We did not find an organized, tiered learning path (beginner/intermediate/advanced) as compared to what larger competitors offer. We didn’t notice any dedicated webinar program active during our testing window.

There is no proprietary signal service or backtesting tool bundled with the GKFX platform offering. Traders who want that kind of integrated research layer will need to rely on MT4/MT5's native tools or third-party services. GKFX is one of the weaker options in this review series for traders who prioritize in-house education and research as part of the broker relationship. This gap is less important for traders who already have an independent research process and just need reliable execution.

GKFX Mobile Trading

GKFX offers mobile trading through the standard MT4 and MT5 mobile apps on iOS and Android. There is no proprietary mobile app. Both MetaTrader mobile apps support full account management, order placement across all standard order types, and real-time chart access. Though the interface is the familiar MetaTrader design rather than a broker-customized experience.

During our testing, we placed 30 orders via MT5 mobile during the London session. We recorded an average fill time of 171 ms that is consistent with the desktop ECN Zero benchmark. It indicates that the mobile app does not significantly slow down trade execution. Traders who specifically want mobile-native features like biometric login beyond the device lock screen, integrated signals, or mobile backtesting will not find them here.

GKFX Overnight Funding / Swap Rates

GKFX charges standard overnight swap fees on positions held open at the platform's daily rollover time. It applies triple swap on Wednesdays to account for weekend rollover. Islamic accounts replace this with a fixed administrative fee.

GKFX's overnight swap rates on EUR/USD are broadly consistent with the mid-market average. The rates are close to HFM and slightly wider than IC Markets and Pepperstone. Gold's long-side swap of -4.1 points is on the higher end of our comparison set. It is a relevant consideration for traders who hold gold positions overnight for extended periods. Traders should consider the Friday triple-swap impact into weekly position-sizing decisions.

GKFX VPS Hosting & Algorithmic Trading

VPS Hosting

GKFX offers Virtual Private Server hosting for algorithmic traders running MT4 or MT5. It is typically available to clients who maintain a qualifying account balance and/or trading volume threshold. We were not able to independently verify low-latency infrastructure claims during our test, as the broker has limited public disclosure on data center partnerships.

EA Compatibility

GKFX enables the standard MQL4/MQL5 environment on both MT4 and MT5. It supports Expert Advisors, custom indicators, and scripts without platform-level restrictions in our testing. They answered this specific question (MT5 EA compatibility) accurately during our support test and promptly via phone. We consider it as a stronger result than the regulatory status query discussed above.

GKFX has a strong competitive position when read alongside this table. It is not the cheapest, fastest, majorly regulated, or most instrument-diverse broker in its peer group on any single metric. It is best in accessibility, no minimum deposit on Classic, a low $200 ECN entry point, and high leverage without a professional-status application. The broker is better suited to traders who value easy access and flexible leverage than those seeking the lowest costs or fastest execution.

Not Suitable For

  • Traders who require Tier-1 regulatory protection (FCA, ASIC, CySEC) as GKFX's currently active licenses are both Tier-3 offshore authorizations
  • UK and EU retail clients looking to trade under the GKFX brand specifically, since that business now operates under the Trive name
  • Cost-sensitive active traders and scalpers, as the ECN Zero account's ~$12/lot all-in cost and 162 ms average execution is high
  • Traders who need platform diversity beyond MetaTrader, as GKFX does not offer a proprietary platform, cTrader, or TradingView integration
  • Traders who want a broad crypto CFD range, as GKFX offers 10+ pair coverage
  • Beginners who want structured, tiered educational content as part of the broker relationship
  • Traders who want to independently verify infrastructure and data center claims, as the broker has limited public disclosure on this point

Choose GKFX If… / Don't Choose If…

Choose GKFX if:

  • You want a free entry point as the Classic account requires $0 minimum deposit
  • You want high leverage without a professional-status application, as the international entity offers up to 1:400
  • You want a low-cost path into an ECN-style account, as the $200 ECN Zero minimum is accessible for smaller accounts
  • You're comfortable with MetaTrader-only trading and don't need a proprietary platform or TradingView
  • You want a swap-free Islamic account available across all account tiers
  • You've already made an informed decision to accept offshore-only regulatory coverage in exchange for flexibility

Don't Choose GKFX If…

  • You specifically want Tier-1 regulatory protection as GKFX's active licenses are both Tier-3 offshore authorizations
  • You're a UK or EU-based trader looking for FCA/MFSA coverage under the GKFX name, since that business has moved to the Trive brand
  • You're an active trader or scalper prioritizing lowest possible cost, as GKFX's ~$12/lot all-in ECN cost trails category leaders by 40–50%
  • You need fast execution for short-term or algorithmic strategies, as we recorded a 162 ms average in our testing
  • You want platform variety beyond MT4/MT5
  • You want broad instrument or crypto coverage, as GKFX's ~400-instrument range is narrower than most direct competitors

Conclusion

GKFX in 2026 is best understood as two different brokers sharing one legacy name. Most of the traders associate GKFX brand associated with the FCA- and MFSA-regulated entity. It now operates under the Trive name, following a 2023 rebrand and the cancellation of the UK entity's FCA authorization. The GKFX continues to onboard new retail clients today through a British Virgin Islands and Cambodia licensing structure. It operates under a Tier-3 offshore framework that carries less investor protections than the regulatory coverage the brand was originally built on.

During our testing, we found a broker that functions reliably on pure trading conditions. However, it does not lead its category on any major metric. A $12.00 all-in cost on EUR/USD via ECN Zero and a 162 ms average execution making it less competitive than many leading ECN brokers in this review series.

The broker offers a ~400-instrument range and MT4/MT5-only platform, which are less as compared to the most direct competitors. The broker processes deposits and withdrawals without incident but on a slower timeline than several Tier-1-regulated peers. The customer support was accurate on four of five test scenarios but notably slow on the fifth – question about current regulatory status that matters most.

What GKFX does offer is accessibility: a free Classic account, a low-cost path into ECN-style pricing, high leverage without a professional-status difficulty, and a swap-free account available across every tier. GKFX is a practical and typical choice for a trader who has already decided that offshore-only regulation is an acceptable trade-off in exchange for that flexibility.

Traders who highly value the strong regulatory oversight should carefully review GKFX's regulatory structure before opening an account and compare it with Tier-1 regulated alternatives. GKFX earns an overall BP Score™ of 66/100 – a broker with functional infrastructure and no major operational red flags in our testing. It sits back mainly by its current regulatory tier and above-average trading costs relative to the category leaders it's most often compared against.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • No minimum deposit on the Classic account
  • Low $200 entry point to the ECN Zero account
  • High leverage up to 1:400 without a professional-status application
  • Swap-free Islamic account available across all account types
  • Zero deposit and withdrawal fees on standard payment methods
  • Reliable, full-featured MT4 and MT5 implementation with EA/algorithmic trading support
  • No major operational failures observed during our 21-day live test

Cons

  • No currently active Tier-1 regulator under the GKFX brand
  • UK/EU retail business has moved to the Trive brand; GKFX's international entity does not serve these markets
  • ECN Zero all-in cost (~$12/lot) is meaningfully above category-leading ECN brokers
  • Average execution speed (162 ms) trails Tier-1-regulated competitors
  • No proprietary platform, cTrader, or TradingView integration
  • Narrower instrument range (~400) than most direct competitors
  • Support was slow and initially imprecise on our regulatory status query
  • Limited public disclosure on infrastructure and data center partnerships

BP Score™ Breakdown

regulation & Trust

6/10

Two active Tier-3 offshore licenses (FSC BVI, SECC Cambodia); no currently active Tier-1 retail entity under the GKFX brand following the 2023–2024 restructuring to Trive.

trading Costs

7.5/10

Classic account spread is workable but above average for a no-commission tier; ECN Zero's ~$12/lot all-in cost trails category-leading ECN specialists by a meaningful margin.

platforms & Tools

6/10

Solid, reliable MT4/MT5 implementation, but no proprietary platform, cTrader, or TradingView integration, and no bundled signal or backtesting tool.

execution Speed

6/10

162 ms average is workable for swing/position trading but well behind the sub-100 ms benchmarks recorded at leading ECN brokers; slippage skew and requote rate also trail category leaders.

asset Coverage

7/10

~400 instruments cover the core forex, index, and commodity needs of most retail traders but fall well short of larger multi-asset competitors, particularly on crypto and shares.

customer Support

7/10

Practical multi-channel coverage and mostly accurate first-contact resolution, offset by a slow and initially imprecise response to the single most important question a prospective client is likely to ask: current regulatory status.
