Switch Markets Review 2026: Real Trading Test & BP Score
Risk warning: CFDs are complex products that carry a high risk of rapid losses due to leverage. Switch Markets reports that 71% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider. Make sure you understand how CFDs work and can afford the risk before trading.
What Is Switch Markets?
Switch Markets is a forex and CFD broker brand founded in 2019 by an Australian team. It offers currency pairs, share CFDs, indices, commodities, and other markets through online trading platforms.
Switch Markets operates through two companies. Switch Markets Pty Ltd handles the customer service and account management, including marketing, account setup, and support. Royal CM Ltd provides the trading services under a license from Vanuatu’s Financial Services Commission (VFSC). Royal CM is part of the wider OneRoyal group.
Switch Markets initially operated as an authorized representative under an Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) license. That agreement ended in 2024, and Switch Markets stopped accepting clients from Australia. Switch Markets started in Australia, but its international clients do not get Australian financial protection.
The broker focuses on trading tools and account features. It offers MetaTrader platforms and tools for automated trading, it also provides services to connect TradingView alerts with MetaTrader. Switch Markets is ideal for traders who want these tools at no extra cost.
In this review, we look at Switch Markets' accounts, fees, and live trading results. We also look at its regulatory arrangements and the practical implications for clients before reaching our final verdict.
Our Testing Methodology
We used the same seven checks we apply to other brokers on BrokersProfile. This lets us compare Switch Markets with other brokers using consistent criteria, live trading data, and independent checks.
Test Area | What We Did |
Licence and regulation | Checked the official regulatory registers and reviewed the client agreement to identify the company holding client accounts. |
Spread tracking | Recorded spreads every five minutes across the Asian, London, and New York sessions for 25 trading days on both accounts. |
Execution quality | Placed 250 live market orders on the MT5 Pro account and recorded execution times, slippage, and rejected orders. |
Total trading costs | Calculated spreads, commissions, swaps, and payment fees for three different trader profiles. |
Platforms and tools | Tested MT5 and each included trading tool for at least one week. We also built and ran a basic Expert Advisor (EA) using AlgoBuilder AI. |
Customer support | Asked six standard questions through live chat and email, assessing response times, accuracy, and whether the first reply resolved each issue. |
User reviews | Analysed more than 150 public reviews to identify recurring positive feedback and complaints. |
We combined our live trading results with regulatory checks, platform testing, support responses, and user feedback to evaluate Switch Markets across our review criteria. Our findings are based on the accounts and conditions we tested. Spreads, execution, and fees can change with market conditions and account type.
What We Found During Our Testing
Switch Markets offered low Pro account spreads and useful free tools, but its execution speed and withdrawal times were slower than leading brokers. Here is a summary of our results.
Area | What We Measured | Our Rating |
Pro account spreads | EUR/USD averaged 0.14 pips during the London session | Good |
Standard account spreads | EUR/USD averaged 1.48 pips during the London session | Average |
Execution speed | 96 ms average in London and 131 ms in Asia | Below average |
Slippage | 13.2% of orders; 5.9% positive and 7.3% negative | Mixed |
Free VPS | 1.6 ms ping to the server and no downtime during 25 days | Excellent |
Account opening | 6 minutes to sign up and 9 hours for verification | Average |
Deposits | USDT credited in 14 minutes | Good |
Withdrawals | 7 hours 20 minutes via Skrill to 6 business days by card | Slow |
Live chat | Average reply time of 1 minute 34 seconds | Excellent |
Pro Account Spreads Were Lower Than Standard
The Pro account averaged 0.14 pips on EUR/USD during London trading. Including the $7 round-turn commission, one standard lot cost us about $8.40. That is a bit more expensive than some of the lowest-cost raw accounts, but still affordable. The Standard account averaged 1.48 pips on EUR/USD during the London session, so its spreads were wider than the Pro account.
Execution Speed Was Slower Than Expected
Our average execution time was 96 ms during the London session and 131 ms in Asia. We recorded slower execution times as compared to other brokers we tested in 2026.
We recorded 1.4 percentage points more negative slippage than positive slippage. It was a small difference, but slippage still worked against us overall.
Free Tools: One of the Main Benefits
The free VPS performed well in our tests. Our EA ran for 25 days without a disconnection, and the ping to the server averaged 1.6 ms. AlgoBuilder AI created a working MT5 trading robot from our moving-average strategy in about 15 minutes. PineConnector also sent our TradingView alerts to MT5 in under a second.
Fast Deposits, Slower Withdrawals
Our USDT deposit arrived in 14 minutes. Skrill withdrawals took 7 hours and 20 minutes, while card withdrawals took up to six business days.
Our Honest Take at BrokersProfile
We had a better trading experience with Switch Markets than its offshore regulation might recommends. Its free tools are really useful, especially if you build EAs or use TradingView alerts. These tools could save you $50–$100 a month on software and hosting. That is a useful benefit for traders starting with just $50. The Pro account is also good value. It offers raw spreads and a total cost of under $9 per lot, with a minimum deposit of just $50.
The main concern is regulation. Your account is covered by Royal CM Ltd in Vanuatu, not an Australian-regulated entity. The VFSC is an offshore regulator with easy capital rules. It doesn’t offer compensation fund. If something went wrong, it will be difficult to get your money back. Switch Markets is no more linked to ASIC, as that arrangement ended in 2024.
Our execution results raised another concern. We experienced elongated order execution and more negative slippage. For scalpers, fast execution is more important than free tools.
User reviews gave us mixed results. Many traders liked the free tools and rapid chat support. Other users reported slow withdrawals. Some traders also reported account blocks after making large profits. We fully received our withdrawals, but Switch Markets delayed the payments.
Our verdict: Switch Markets earns a BP Score™ of 69/100. It is a smart choice for algo traders, TradingView users, and beginners who want to learn on small balances with great tools. Keep your deposit small, withdraw profits regularly, and use a Tier-1 regulated broker if you plan to hold larger sums.
Is Switch Markets Safe? – Regulation & Safety
Switch Markets is an established business that fully processed our withdrawals, but its offshore regulation offers limited protection. All client accounts are covered under one offshore entity, which limits client protection.
Company | Role | Regulator | Number | Client Protection |
Switch Markets Pty Ltd | Brand, sign-up, support | None (agent only) | ACN 640 033 727 | Not applicable |
Royal CM Ltd | Holds your account and executes trades | VFSC (Vanuatu) | Company no. 700284 | No compensation scheme |
Royal Financial Trading Pty Ltd | OneRoyal's Australian arm | ASIC | AFSL 420268 | Does not serve Switch Markets clients |
When you open an account, your agreement is with Royal CM Ltd. The VFSC requires basic capital funds and regular reporting, but it provides limited oversight. It doesn’t provide investor compensation fund, and have no strict leverage limited. It also offers limited help with client disputes.
The ASIC license in the table belongs to OneRoyal, not to Switch Markets. Switch Markets formerly operated as an authorized representative under an ASIC license. That arrangement ended in 2024, and now Switch Markets doesn’t accept clients from Australia.
Some older review sites still list ASIC and CySEC as regulators of Switch Markets. Neither regulator currently protects Switch Markets clients.
What This Means for You
·No tier-1 protection: If Royal CM Ltd fails, no compensation scheme guarantees your money back.
Few legal options: You must complain to the broker first, then escalate to the VFSC, which offers limited help with retail disputes.
Group backing helps a little: OneRoyal has operated regulated brokers since 2006, which provides some guarantee about its back-office operations.
We didn’t find any fine or enforcement action against Royal CM Ltd. We found repeated user complaints about late withdrawals and accounts frozen for review, often after traders made large profits.
Security Practices and Risk Management Tools
Segregated funds: Royal CM says it keeps client funds separate from company funds. The broker has less strict offshore audit requirements, and we could not verify the fund holding banks.
Negative balance protection: The client agreement states that retail clients cannot lose more than their account balance. We reviewed the clause and confirmed it applies to all retail accounts.
Same-route withdrawals: Switch Markets returns funds through the original payment method, up to the amount deposited. This helps prevent fraud and money laundering.
Account security: The client portal supports two-factor login. Enable it, as your email is the main way to access your account.
Tools to Control Your Risk
MT4 and MT5: Both give you all standard safety tools including stop-loss, take-profit, trailing stops, and pending orders. Switch Markets includes several extra tools at no cost.
Trackatrader journal: Tracks your win rate, average loss, and biggest drop in account value to help you spot patterns in your trading.
Risk calculators: Position size, pip value, and margin calculators are available inside the client portal.
Dynamic leverage: The broker lowers leverage as your position size increases. This reduces the risk of losses from large trades.
One setting to watch: the stop-out level is 20%. Your positions only start closing when your equity falls to 20% of the margin used.
This lets trades move further against you before a margin call or stop-out. However, it also means you can lose most of your balance before the broker closes your trades. Set your own stop-loss orders instead of relying on the broker’s stop-out system.
Switch Markets Spreads & Trading Costs
Switch Markets keeps its price list short. The Standard account charges only through the spread. The Pro account charges a raw spread plus a flat $3.50 per lot, per side. There are no account fees and no inactivity fees.
Live Spreads We Recorded (25-Day Average, London Session)
Instrument | Switch Standard | Switch Pro | Moneta Prime ECN | Tickmill Raw | IC Markets Raw |
EUR/USD | 1.48 pips | 0.14 pips | 0.16 pips | 0.10 pips | 0.02 pips |
GBP/USD | 1.86 pips | 0.38 pips | 0.31 pips | 0.20 pips | 0.08 pips |
USD/JPY | 1.62 pips | 0.21 pips | 0.24 pips | 0.20 pips | 0.05 pips |
XAU/USD (gold) | 0.34 | 0.18 | 0.11 | 0.22 | 0.08 |
US500 | 0.88 pts | 0.70 pts | 0.58 pts | 0.30 pts | 0.40 pts |
Competitor figures are based on our own 2026 broker tests.
How to read this table:
Pro forex pricing is competitive: EUR/USD and USD/JPY on the Pro account sat close to Moneta and Tickmill. GBP/USD was a little wider.
Standard is slightly above average: Commission-free accounts across the industry usually price EUR/USD at 1.2 to 1.4 pips. Switch’s 1.48-pip spread is a bit higher.
Gold is middle of the pack: At 0.18 pips, Switch’s Pro spread beat Tickmill but was higher than Moneta and IC Markets.
Indices are costly: The US500 spread was the widest in our group on both accounts. Index traders should look elsewhere.
When Spreads Jumped
On 2 October, the US jobs report widened the Pro EUR/USD spread to 5.1 pips for a short time. It took about 50 seconds to fall back under 0.5 pips, which is slower than average. During the 5 pm New York rollover, Pro account gold spreads widened to about $1.20 for several minutes. If you scalp gold, avoid trading during that period.
Real Cost of a Trade
We tracked the full cost of each EUR/USD trade, including spreads, commissions, and overnight fees where applicable. The details below show what one standard lot cost us in three typical trading scenarios.
Standard Account: Casual Trading
A trader who opens and closes one standard lot on the same day pays $14.80 in spread costs, with no commission. The total cost is $14.80.
Pro Account: Day Trading
On the Pro account, the same trade costs $1.40 in spread and $7 in round-turn commission. The total comes to $8.40.
Pro Account: Swing Trading
Holding one standard lot from Monday to Friday increase overnight swaps, including Wednesday’s triple charge. The spread and commission cost $8.40, while swaps add $49.70 over seven charged nights, making the total to about $58.10.
For trades held overnight, swap fees can add more to the cost than the spread itself.
Monthly Cost at Different Volumes (EUR/USD, Day Trades)
Lots per Month | Switch Standard | Switch Pro | Moneta Prime ECN | Tickmill Raw | IC Markets Raw |
10 | $148 | $84 | $76 | $70 | $62 |
100 | $1,480 | $840 | $760 | $700 | $620 |
400 | $5,920 | $3,360 | $3,040 | $2,800 | $2,480 |
Switch Pro costs about $220 more than IC Markets at 100 lots a month. The free VPS and EA builder can save money on separate tools for active EA traders. Manual scalpers who don't need these tools may not get much value from them.
Switch Markets Trading Platforms
Switch Markets does not build its own trading platform. It uses MetaTrader as its main platform and adds extra tools. This is ideal for traders who want more features without switching platforms.
Feature | MT4 | MT5 | PineConnector (bridge) |
Desktop (Windows, Mac) | Yes | Yes | Runs alongside MT4/MT5 |
WebTrader | Yes | Yes | Not needed |
Mobile app | iOS, Android | iOS, Android | Alerts only |
Timeframes | 9 | 21 | Uses TradingView's |
Expert Advisors | MQL4 | MQL5 | Turns TradingView alerts into orders |
Depth of market | No | Yes | No |
Economic calendar built in | No | Yes | No |
Cent account support | Yes | No | Yes, via MT4 |
Cost at Switch Markets | Free | Free | Free with $50 balance |
MetaTrader 4
MT4 supports older EAs and indicators and is the only platform available for the Cent account. Our test EA ran without issues, but MT4 has fewer instruments than MT5.
MetaTrader 5
We recommend MT5 for most traders. It has more timeframes, a built-in economic calendar, and market depth. It offers a faster strategy tester. We ran all execution tests on MT5.
PineConnector: TradingView Without a Native Link
Switch Markets has no direct TradingView connection. It gives you a free PineConnector license. TradingView sends the alert to PineConnector, which passes it to MT4 or MT5 to place the trade. In our test, orders filled about 0.8 seconds after the TradingView alert. It works well for systematic traders. It is less convenient if you want to place trades directly from TradingView charts, as Switch Markets does not support this.
AlgoBuilder AI
AlgoBuilder AI turns a trading strategy written in plain English into a working EA. We typed "buy when the 20 EMA crosses above the 50 EMA on H1, stop at 30 pips, target 60 pips." After two rounds of changes, we had an MT5 robot that compiled and placed trades in about 15 minutes. It still needs work for complex strategies, but it provides a way to build their own EAs for beginners who cannot code.
Switch Markets Account Types
Account | Our Label | Min. Deposit | Spread From | Commission | Platforms | Best For |
Standard | Standard | $50 | 1.4 pips | $0 | MT4, MT5 | New and casual traders |
Pro | Prime | $50 | 0.0 pips | $3.50 per side | MT4, MT5 | Day traders, EA users |
VIP | Institutional | By agreement | Custom | Custom | MT4, MT5 | High-volume traders |
Cent | Micro | $50 | 1.4 pips | $0 | MT4 only | Testing EAs with tiny sizes |
Demo | Demo | $0 | Live prices | None | MT4, MT5 | Practice |
All live accounts support trades from 0.01 lots. The broker allows hedging and scalping. The margin call level is 100%, and stop-out is triggered at 20%.
Standard Account
This is the simple, no-commission account. Spreads start at 1.4 pips, and our EUR/USD average was 1.48 pips. It suits traders who place a few trades a week and prefer one clear cost.
Pro Account (Prime)
We would choose this account. You pay a raw spread plus $7 per round-turn lot. It needs the same $50 as Standard, so there is no reason to pay higher spreads once you trade more than a lot or two a month.
VIP Account (Institutional)
Switch Markets offers custom pricing for large or high-volume clients. There is no public price list. You talk to the sales team, show your volume, and agree terms. We did not meet the requirements during testing, so we could not assess this feature.
Professional Status
There is no separate professional account. Because Royal CM is an offshore entity, retail clients already get leverage up to 1:1000. The “Professional” label offers less practical benefit.
Cent Account
The Cent account shows your balance in cents. A $50 deposit becomes 5,000 cents. It is easy for testing a new EA with real money but has some risks. It supports only MT4, offers limited markets, and does not include the free tools bundle.
Demo Account
The demo has no fixed expiry, but it closes after 45 days without a login. It uses live prices, and you can reset the balance any time from the portal.
Islamic (Swap-Free) Option
Clients from eligible Muslim-majority countries can switch Standard or Pro to swap-free. You don’t pay swap for the first 10 business days a trade is open. After that, the broker applies a small fixed fee each night.
Switch Markets Instruments &Markets
Switch Markets lists more than 1,000 CFDs. Most of those instruments are share CFDs.
Asset Class | Approx. Count | Examples | Max Leverage |
Forex | 65+ pairs | EUR/USD, USD/MXN, USD/PHP, GBP/NZD | 1:1000 |
Indices | 15+ | US500, US30, NAS100, GER40, JPN225 | 1:200 |
Commodities | 20+ | Gold, silver, WTI, Brent, natural gas | 1:500 |
Share CFDs | 1,000+ | Tesla, Netflix, Apple, Amazon | 1:10 |
ETFs | A small selection | SPY, QQQ, iShares FTSE 100 | 1:10 |
Crypto CFDs | 60+ | BTC/USD, ETH/USD, SOL/USD, DOGE/USD | 1:100 |
What we liked: The broker offers broad list of forex, with useful exotics for Latin American and Asian traders such as USD/MXN and USD/PHP. It has larger crypto range as compared to other forex brokers. It supports 24/7crypto trading, including weekends.
What we missed: There are no bonds, options, or futures. The broker has quite limited ETF range. We recorded wider crypto spreads on the Standard account. Crypto exchanges often charge much lower fees.
Switch Markets advertises zero commission on share CFDs. We recorded quite reasonable spreads on popular US stocks, but leverage is limited at 1:10, so stock trades need more margin than forex.
Switch Markets Execution & Speed
Switch Markets uses market execution on every account. The broker fills your order at the best available price when it reaches the server, without requotes. We tested how quickly orders filled and whether the final price matched the market.
Our 250-Order Test
We placed 250 market orders on the Pro account from MT5 desktop. The mix was EUR/USD, GBP/USD, gold, and US500. We placed orders from 0.1 to 2 lots during both busy and quiet market hours. We then repeated 50 of those orders from the free VPS to check whether distance affected execution.
Metric | From Our Office PC | From the Free VPS |
Average fill, London session | 96 ms | 71 ms |
Average fill, Asian session | 131 ms | 74 ms |
Fastest fill | 44 ms | 22 ms |
Slowest fill (outside news) | 268 ms | 143 ms |
Orders with slippage | 13.2% | 11.0% |
Positive / negative slippage | 5.9% / 7.3% | 5.0% / 6.0% |
Requotes | 0 | 0 |
Rejected orders | 4 (1.6%) | 0 |
All four orders were rejected within two seconds of the 2 October US jobs report.
How Switch Markets Compares (Average Fill, London Session, Desktop)
Instrument | Switch Markets | Moneta Markets | Tickmill | Admirals | IC Markets |
EUR/USD | 96 ms | 74 ms | 69 ms | 82 ms | 28 ms |
GBP/USD | 101 ms | 79 ms | 74 ms | 89 ms | 31 ms |
XAU/USD | 112 ms | 86 ms | 81 ms | 94 ms | 34 ms |
US500 | 120 ms | 95 ms | 87 ms | 101 ms | 38 ms |
Switch Markets was the slowest broker in this group on every instrument. The broker was about 14 ms slower than Admirals on EUR/USD, but the difference was much larger compared with IC Markets.
Slippage was important for us more than execution speed. We experienced more negative slippage, averaging 0.3 pips compared with 0.2 pips for positive slippage. Even a small difference can increase costs over thousands of trades.
The good news: the free VPS fixed most of the problem. Trading from the VPS reduced London fill times by a quarter and made Asian-session fills almost as fast as London fills. If you trade from Asia or Latin America, use the VPS. The VPS upgraded Switch Markets’ execution to a more acceptable level.
Opening an Account with Switch Markets – Step-by-Step
We signed up in six minutes, but Switch Markets took another nine hours to verify our account. We could start trading after it approved our documents. Here is how we opened and funded our test account.
1. Register Your Details
We clicked “Open Account” on the Switch Markets website, entered our contact details, and confirmed our email address.
2. Complete the Profile
The form asked for our date of birth, address, employment details, income range, and trading experience. This part took about three minutes.
3. Verify Your Identity
We uploaded a photo ID and proof of address dated within the last three months. We suggest uploading clear images so the documents are easy to review.
4. Set Up the Trading Account
We selected our account type, trading platform, base currency, and leverage. You can adjust leverage later through the client portal.
5. Add Funds and Access the Tools
The minimum deposit is $50. After funding the account, we found the free tools in the client portal and requested access to the VPS, AlgoBuilder AI, and PineConnector. Our VPS was ready in about 40 minutes.
Before placing a trade: Check the leverage setting carefully. The form defaults to high leverage, so we reduced it to 1:100 before trading.
Switch Markets Deposit & Withdrawal
Switch Markets offers a long list of payment options, designed for specific countries. The broker says it charges no internal fees on deposits or withdrawals. A gateway fee of 0.8% applies to crypto deposits, and banks or networks may add their own charges.
Method | Min. Deposit | Deposit Speed | Withdrawal Speed (after approval) | Fee |
Visa / Mastercard | $50 | Instant to 1 working day | 3–5 business days | None from broker |
Bank wire | $50 | 3–5 business days | 3–5 business days | Bank charges may apply |
Skrill / Neteller | $50 | Instant | Within hours | None from broker |
FasaPay / Perfect Money | $50 | Instant | Within hours | None from broker |
UnionPay | $50 | Within hours | 1–3 business days | None from broker |
Interac (Canada) | $50 | Instant | 1–2 business days | None from broker |
DragonPay (Philippines) | $50 | Within hours | 1–2 business days | None from broker |
PIX (Brazil) | $50 | Instant | 1 business day | None from broker |
Crypto (BTC, ETH, USDT) | $50 | Under 30 minutes | 1–2 business days | 0.8% on deposits, plus network fee |
Switch Markets aims to process withdrawals within one business day, but the payment method may take longer to transfer the funds.
Our Withdrawal Tests
$150 to Skrill: We requested a $150 withdrawal to Skrill on Tuesday at 10:15 UTC and received the funds at 17:35. The total time was 7 hours and 20 minutes, with no fee.
$200 in USDT (TRC-20): We requested a $200 USDT (TRC-20) withdrawal on Wednesday morning. It was approved on Thursday morning, and we received the funds about an hour later. The total time was 26 hours, with a $1 network fee.
$100 to Visa: We requested a $100 withdrawal to Visa on Monday. It was approved on Tuesday, and we received the funds the following Monday. The total time was 6 business days.
We received every withdrawal in full, but the process was slow. Most brokers in our 2026 tests processed e-wallet withdrawals within two to four hours.
Base Currencies
You can hold your account in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, CHF, NZD, or JPY. Traders in the Philippines, Brazil, and much of Asia will still convert from their local currency.
Switch Markets Leverage
All clients open accounts with Royal CM Ltd, so the same leverage rules apply to everyone. The maximum leverage depends on the product you trade and the size of your position. As your position grows, the broker reduces the available leverage to limit risk.
Maximum Leverage by Asset Class (Royal CM Ltd, VFSC)
Asset Class | Maximum Leverage |
Forex | 1:1000 |
Gold and other commodities | 1:500 |
Indices | 1:200 |
Crypto CFDs | 1:100 |
Shares and ETFs | 1:10 |
Dynamic Leverage in Practice
Switch Markets lowers your leverage as your open volume grows. In our MT5 account, the contract specifications listed the following leverage tiers for major forex pairs:
Open Volume per Symbol | Leverage Applied |
Up to 5 lots | 1:1000 |
5 to 20 lots | 1:500 |
20 to 50 lots | 1:200 |
Over 50 lots | 1:100 |
Leverage is also reduced around major news and over weekends. Check the portal notices before big events.
How Switch Markets Compares (Highest Retail Leverage on EUR/USD)
Broker | Max Leverage | Regulator of That Entity |
Exness | Unlimited | Offshore |
HFM | 1:2000 | Offshore |
Switch Markets | 1:1000 | VFSC (Vanuatu) |
Moneta Markets | 1:1000 | FSC (Mauritius) |
Tickmill | 1:1000 | FSA (Seychelles) |
IC Markets | 1:500 | Offshore |
High leverage lets you open larger positions with less money, but it also increases your risk. At 1:1000 leverage, if you make a 0.1% move against a fully leveraged position, it can wipe out the margin you put up. We tested Switch Markets at 1:100 and recommend that most traders use this level or lower to easily manage risks.
Country Availability
Switch Markets accepts clients from most countries, but it leaves out several important markets.
Not accepted: Australia, the United States, Cyprus, Kosovo, North Korea, and around 30 other countries where local laws restrict the service, including Iran and Iraq. The sign-up form shows the current list.
Main Client Regions
Region | Example Countries | Local Payment Methods |
South-East Asia | Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia | DragonPay, local bank transfer |
Latin America | Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile | PIX, cards |
North America | Canada | Interac |
Africa | Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa | Cards, e-wallets, crypto |
Europe | Selected non-restricted countries | Cards, Skrill, Neteller |
European clients can open Standard and Pro accounts, but they cannot use the PAMM program. No matter where you live, your account is covered by the Vanuatu entity. This means your local regulator does not protect your account, and you may have fewer options in case of a dispute.
Switch Markets Customer Support
Switch Markets offers support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through live chat. You can also contact the team by email if your issue needs documents or a more detailed answer. However, retail clients cannot call the broker for help because it does not offer phone support.

Dynamic leverage tiers for gold | 11 hours | Excellent | Yes |
They took an average of 1 minute 34 seconds to reply our live chat query. We consider it as one of the fastest support services in our 2026 tests. The agents understood the broker’s free tools and explained how to use them. One agent even guided us through setting up PineConnector step by step.
The only issue was a pending withdrawal. The chat agent could not explain the delay, so they passed the case to the finance team. We received an email response the next day. That matches a common theme in user reviews. We noticed that front-line support is quick and friendly, but questions about money take as long as the back office needs to respond.
Switch Markets Education & Research
Switch Markets offers basic trading coaching lessons, market updates, and practical tools. Its offering is useful for beginners, but its learning materials are more limited as compared to some larger brokers.
Trading Education
Switch Markets offers free short lessons through its Learn to Trade library, which cover forex basics, chart reading, and risk management. Funded clients can also book free one-on-one sessions with a market coach. Regular webinars and Market Movers articles provide updates on market developments and the events that may affect prices.
Research and Trading Tools
AI Trading Assistant: This chatbot answers basic trading questions and explains market movements. It was useful for general queries, but it gave general answers to questions about specific market conditions.
Market Analysis Tools: The currency strength meter shows which currencies are strong or weak. The sentiment heatmap shows whether other traders are mostly buying or selling. The economic calendar highlights upcoming events that may move prices.
Calculators and Trackatrader: Around ten calculators cover pip values, margin, position size, and potential profit. Trackatrader keeps a record of trading results. It helps users review their performance and identify patterns in their trades.
Our Testing Experience
We booked a coaching session during our test. The coach was knowledgeable and answered our questions without pressuring us to deposit more money. The AI assistant handled basic questions well but offered limited insight into specific market conditions.
Our Verdict
Switch Markets lacks a structured course with learning levels and quizzes. It offers limited written lessons as compared to other brokers such as Admirals and IG. However, free coaching, market updates, and practical tools are especially important for beginners who prefer practical guidance over lengthy lessons.
Switch Markets Mobile Trading
Switch Markets doesn’t have its on proprietary app. You trade on the standard MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 apps for iOS and Android, and manage your account through the mobile version of the client portal.
This setup has both advantages and drawbacks:
Pro: The MT apps are reliable and easy to use, with plenty of charting tools. You can manage orders, set stops, and view 30-plus indicators on your phone.
Pro: Your EAs keep running on the free VPS while you trade manually from your phone.
Con: You need to use your phone’s browser for deposits, withdrawals, and free tools, so you have to switch between the trading app and the browser.
Con: You cannot run EAs inside the mobile apps themselves.
We placed 30 orders from the MT5 iPhone app during London hours. They filled in 104 ms on average, about 8 ms slower than our desktop result. The mobile portal worked well for uploading documents and requesting withdrawals, but it loaded slowly on 4G. Switch Markets may not suit you if you want one app for everything. But if you already use MetaTrader, you should find it familiar and easy to use.
Switch Markets Overnight Funding & Swap Rates
If you keep a trade open past 5 pm New York time, Switch Markets may charge you a swap fee or pay you interest. It depends on the interest rate difference between the two currencies and the broker’s extra charge.
These fees can increase if you hold trades for several days. The broker usually charges triple swap on trades held overnight on Wednesday to cover the weekend. We recommend traders to check the rates before leaving a trade open.
Swap Benchmark (October 2026, Points per Night, 1 Lot)
Broker | EUR/USD Long | EUR/USD Short | Gold Long | Gold Short |
Switch Markets | −7.1 | +1.4 | −4.8 | +0.9 |
Moneta Markets | −6.8 | +1.6 | −4.4 | +1.0 |
Tickmill | −6.2 | +2.0 | −3.9 | +1.4 |
Pepperstone | −5.9 | +1.8 | −3.5 | +1.2 |
IC Markets | −5.7 | +1.9 | −3.4 | +1.1 |
Switch Markets had the most expensive swaps in our group. A long EUR/USD position costs about $1.40 more per night than at IC Markets. The difference may seem small, but it increases to about $42 if you hold one lot for a month.
Swap-Free Option: Eligible clients can use the Islamic option, which removes swap charges for the first 10 business days of each trade. If you qualify, you can save on swap fees for trades held for less than two weeks.
Switch Markets VPS Hosting & Algorithmic Trading
The Free VPS
Any client with a funded live account of $50 or more can request a free VPS. There is no monthly lot target, which makes it one of the easiest free VPS deals we have found.
Our VPS details:
- Windows Server with MT4 and MT5 preinstalled
- Enough memory to run three to four terminals at once
- 1.6 ms average ping to Switch Markets' trade server
- Zero downtime across our 25-day test
Switch Markets says the package saves clients several hundred dollars a year. Prices from third-party VPS providers for similar services support that claim.
Automated Trading Tools
Tool | What It Does | Our Experience |
Expert Advisors (MT4/MT5) | Run any EA, with scalping, hedging, and news trading allowed | No restrictions hit during testing |
AlgoBuilder AI | Builds EAs from plain-English instructions | Working EMA robot in about 15 minutes |
PineConnector | Sends TradingView alerts to MT4/MT5 as live orders | About 0.8 seconds from alert to fill |
MetaTrader Signals | Copy other traders through the MT signals service | Easy to set up, quality varies |
PAMM | Lets money managers trade for followers | Not available to EU clients |
Our main complaint is that Switch Markets does not offer a direct API. Developers who want to connect their own software must go through MetaTrader or PineConnector. For most retail traders who use automated strategies, Switch Markets offers more built-in automation tools than many brokers in this price range.

Switch Markets vs Tickmill: Tickmill is low-priced, faster, and quite good regulated. Choose Switch Markets if its free tools are more important to you than stronger regulation and faster execution.
Switch Markets vs IC Markets: IC Markets offers lower trading costs and faster execution. Switch Markets may suit traders who want to start with $50 and use its built-in automation tools.
Switch Markets vs Pepperstone: Pepperstone offers tier-1 protection and native TradingView trading. Switch offers higher leverage, more local payment methods, and free automation software.
Not Suitable For
- Traders with large balances as offshore regulation and no compensation fund make it a poor place for big deposits.
- Australian and US residents as Switch Markets does not accept them.
- Speed-focused scalpers trading from a home PC as desktop orders filled slowly, and negative slippage was more common than positive slippage.
- Index CFD traders as we recorded wider US500 spreads in our tests.
- Swing traders without swap-free status as we recorded highest overnight fees.
- Traders who need fast withdrawals as ours took hours to days.
- Anyone who wants a polished all-in-one mobile app as you get MetaTrader plus a mobile web portal.
Choose Switch Markets If… / Don't Choose If…
Choose Switch Markets If:
- You run or want to build EAs and would value a free VPS with no lot target
- You trade from TradingView alerts and want PineConnector at no cost
- You cannot code but want to try automated trading through AlgoBuilder AI
- You are starting with $50 to $1,000 and want raw spreads from day one
- You live in the Philippines, Brazil, Canada, or markets supported by its local payment methods
- You want 24/7 chat support that knows its tools very well
Don't Choose Switch Markets If:
- You want ASIC, FCA, or CySEC protection for your money
- You trade large sizes or keep big balances at your broker
- Every millisecond and every fraction of a pip matters to your strategy
- You mostly trade stock indices
- You need same-day access to your withdrawals
Conclusion
Switch Markets offers a simple deal: start with $50 and get free tools for automated trading. Our tests showed that these tools worked well. The VPS ran without downtime and AlgoBuilder AI built a working trading robot in minutes. PineConnector sent TradingView alerts to MetaTrader in under a second. The Pro account had affordable trading costs. The broker’s live chat was one of the fastest we tested in 2026.
We noticed quite clear weaknesses as well. Every client trades with Royal CM Ltd under a light-touch Vanuatu license, with no compensation scheme. Orders from a regular PC filled slowly and negative slippage was a bit more common. Our withdrawals took longer than at most competing brokers. Index traders and swing traders will also pay more than they need to.
So who should open an account? Algo traders, TradingView alert traders, and interested beginners who want to learn with real tools on a small balance. Use the Pro account, trade from the free VPS, keep your deposit modest, and withdraw profits regularly. Traders who want strong regulation, fast payouts, or the lowest costs should pick a tier-1 broker instead.
A simple way to use Switch Markets well is to treat it as a workshop, not a place to keep large amounts of money. Build and test your robots there, enjoy the free tools, and move larger profits to a better-regulated broker or your bank.
What could improve its score? A license for Switch Markets' own entity from a stronger regulator would make the biggest difference. Faster withdrawals and lower index spreads would also help. We will retest and update this review if we notice these changes.
Switch Markets earns a BP Score™ of 69/100: excellent value for tools, average on cost, and weak on safety.
