Risk warning: CFDs are complex products, and leverage can lead to rapid losses. Most retail investor accounts lose money trading CFDs. Make sure you understand the risks and can afford potential losses before trading.

What Is Hantec Markets?

Hantec Markets is a forex and CFD broker owned by Hantec Group, established in Hong Kong in 1990. The group has expanded its coverage into several countries. It now operates through companies licensed in the UK, Australia, Mauritius, and other jurisdictions.

The UK company holds an FCA license and now mainly serves professional clients. The Australian company is regulated by ASIC and serves Australian residents. Hantec’s Mauritius company holds a license from the Financial Services Commission (FSC) and serves most international retail clients. Other group companies are licensed in Vanuatu, Seychelles, and Jordan. Hantec is also a member of the Hong Kong Gold Exchange. This review focuses on the Mauritius entity, which serves many retail traders across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Hantec is an established business with high trading volumes. Hantec clients traded about $2.72 trillion in 2025 and another $1.206 trillion in the first three months of 2026. Gold, oil, and other non-forex products made up about 83% of this trading volume, showing Hantec’s business focus on metals and commodities.

Hantec is also raising its profile through sports partnerships. It works with the UFC across Asia-Pacific and Atlético de Madrid in Latin America. In 2026, the group also opened a new office in Latin America.

For retail traders, Hantec offers three account types, MetaTrader 4 and 5, its own web and mobile platforms, and a free research service called InsightPro. All three accounts have a $10 minimum deposit, while the Pro account offers spreads from 0.1 pips with a commission.

We opened two live accounts with Hantec’s Mauritius entity and tested them for 28 days. We checked spreads, measured 280 orders execution, tested deposits and withdrawals, and contacted customer support at different times. We also reviewed the broker’s trading platforms, account features, fees, and regulatory details to see how it performs in real trading conditions.

How We Reviewed Hantec Markets

To see how Hantec performs in real trading, we opened accounts like regular clients and used them from 14 September to 21 October 2026, covering 28 trading days.

We chose the Mauritius entity, Hantec Markets Limited, because it handles most international retail clients. We funded a Pro account with $500 by Visa card and a Global account with $200 through Skrill.

Most trades went through MT5 on a Windows laptop in London. We also traded on Hantec WebTrader, the Hantec Mobile app, and Hantec Social for at least a week each. We tracked five markets closely: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, gold, and the US500 index.

Outside the platform, we checked the FSC, FCA, and ASIC registers in October 2026. We read the client agreement and order execution policy, and sorted more than 200 user reviews.

BrokersProfile may earn a fee if you open an account through our links. That has no effect on our scores, and Hantec Markets did not see this review before it went live.

Our Testing Methodology

Every broker on BrokersProfile goes through the same seven tests. Here is what each one covers and why it matters to you.

Test

What We Did

Regulation and safety

Checked each entity on its regulator’s register and reviewed the client agreement.

Spread tracking

Recorded spreads every five minutes across three trading sessions for 28 days.

Execution speed

Placed 280 live market orders on the Pro account and measured how long each took to fill.

Trading costs

Calculated spreads, commissions, swaps, and fees for three types of traders.

Platform testing

Tested five platforms for charting tools, order types, and stability.

Customer support

Asked six standard questions through live chat, email, and phone, including at 3 am.

User reviews

Reviewed more than 200 public reviews and grouped feedback by common themes.

What We Found During Our Testing

We tested Hantec Markets using two live accounts over 28 trading days, checking costs, execution, platforms, withdrawals, and support. Here are the main results and what they mean for traders.

Sign-Up and First Trades

Our registration completed in 8 minutes. Our identity checks were approved in 2 hours and 10 minutes. We consider it as one of the faster verification times in our 2026 tests.

Our Visa deposit reached the Pro account in just 4 minutes.

On day one, we recorded averaged 0.21 pips EUR/USD spread on Pro account during the London session, close to the advertised rate.

Speed and Gold

We focused on execution speed. Orders filled in an average of 63 milliseconds during the London session. We recorded outstanding test results on Gold. The Pro account averaged a 16-cent spread on XAU/USD, making it a good choice for gold traders.

News Days and the Scalping Rule

During the US jobs report on 2 October, spreads widened and two orders were rejected within a second. Negative slippage was more common than positive slippage during our test. We also read the fine print on scalping. Hantec does not allow trades to be held for very short periods. Support confirmed that Hantec may cancel profits from accounts that break this rule.

Withdrawals and Support

Skrill paid out in just over three hours. A card refund took three business days, and a bank wire took two business days but lost $15 to an intermediary bank. Live chat answered at 3 am our time in under three minutes.

Our Honest Take at BrokersProfile

Hantec Markets had lower costs and faster execution than we expected. A Pro-account lot of EUR/USD cost us about $6.20 all in, better than many well-known brokers. We recorded quite low Gold spreads, and orders filled faster than at most brokers we tested in 2026.

The $10 minimum and the Hantec Social app also make it easy for new traders to start small. They can copy experienced traders and learn from their trades. But there are some clear drawbacks to consider.

First, Hantec is a dealing-desk broker. The broker takes the other side of your trades and adds a markup to the prices it gets from liquidity providers. This is common in the industry and helps explain why orders fill quickly. This could create a conflict because Hantec may benefit when clients lose. We recorded more negative slippage than positive slippage during our test. The difference is small but clear.

Second, Hantec restricts scalping. If your strategy relies on very short trades, Hantec is the wrong broker. Hantec states this rule in its terms and may cancel profits if you break it.

Lastly, the level of protection you get depends on where you live. The FCA and ASIC licenses are strong, but most international clients trade through Hantec’s Mauritius-regulated company. That gives you segregated funds and Hantec's Balance Guard, but it has no compensation scheme.

Our verdict: Hantec Markets earns a BP Score™ of 74/100. Hantec suits gold and index traders, swing traders, and beginners who want low costs and copy trading with a $10 starting deposit. Scalpers and anyone who wants pure no-dealing-desk execution should look elsewhere.

Is Hantec Markets Safe? Regulation & Safety

Hantec Markets has been providing its services for decades and holds licenses in several countries. However, most international retail clients use its Mauritius-regulated company, not its UK or Australian companies.

A few things stand out.

The broker holds the real FCA license, but it is not for retail. Hantec's London company now focuses on professional clients. A typical UK retail trader cannot open an account with it. The FCA licence does not protect all Hantec clients.

ASIC covers Australians only. If you live in Australia, you get ASIC rules: 1:30 leverage on major pairs, strict conduct rules, and segregated funds. Most other clients are served by different Hantec companies.

Most international clients open accounts with the Mauritius entity. The FSC is a mid-to-low tier regulator. It requires a license, audited accounts, and separate client funds. It doesn’t offer any compensation scheme and provides limited help with individual disputes.

Two entities share the same name. The UK and Mauritius companies are both called Hantec Markets Limited. Check your client agreement for the country of registration, because it determines what protection you get.

Track Record

Hantec Group has operated for more than 35 years. Its long history is important in an industry where many brokers do not last. We didn’t find any recent fines against Hantec’s Mauritius entity. We recorded mostly positive user reviews, with complained about blocked accounts and cancelled profits, often related to Hantec’s scalping rule.

Security Practices & Risk Management Tools

Hantec Markets uses several measures to protect client funds and account access. These include keeping client money separate from company funds, negative balance protection, and security checks on deposits and withdrawals. However, these measures do not remove the risks of trading or provide the same protection as an investor compensation scheme.

Segregated Client Funds

Hantec says it keeps client money in bank accounts separate from its own operating funds across its entities. This helps protect client money if the company faces financial problems. However, segregation does not guarantee that funds will always be recovered if the broker or a bank fails.

Balance Guard

Hantec provides its own negative balance protection through Balance Guard on retail accounts. If a sudden market move pushes your account below zero, Hantec says it will reset the balance to zero. This helps stop your account balance from falling below zero. The protection applies to retail accounts, even in regions where it is not required by law.

Withdrawals to the Original Payment Method

Hantec usually sends your money back to the same payment method you used to deposit, up to the amount you deposited. This reduces fraud and money laundering.  If you deposit using more than one method, you may need to withdraw the funds through those same methods. Processing times can also vary depending on the payment provider or bank.

Secure Client Portal

Hantec's client portal supports two-factor authentication. It sends email alerts for new logins and withdrawal requests. These features help you identify unusual account activity. This will prevent someone to access your account without permission. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication and using a strong, unique password.

What This Means for Clients

Your level of protection depends on which Hantec company holds your account. Clients of the Mauritius entity cannot access an investor compensation scheme, so it is important to consider this risk before depositing money.

Tools That Help You Manage Risk

Every Hantec platform supports stop-loss, take-profit, and pending orders. MT4 and MT5 support trailing stops. You can set stop-loss and take-profit levels in pips or price on Hantec WebTrader before placing a trade. It helps beginners who prefer working in pips.

On our accounts, the margin call level was 100% and the stop-out level was 50%. The platform warns you by email and pop-up when you get close to a margin call.

InsightPro also helps you manage risk. You can assess the risk before placing a trade because each trade idea includes a suggested entry, stop-loss, and target. We used its ideas as a guide, and didn’t follow these signals blindly. However, the broker doesn’t offer built-in position size calculator on WebTrader or in the mobile app. You will need a separate tool to measure trades by account risk.

Hantec Spreads & Trading Costs

Hantec charges in a simple way. The Global and Cent accounts include all trading costs in the spread. The Pro account uses tighter spreads plus a $2 commission per lot, per side. Hantec adds a markup to its liquidity providers’ prices because it acts as the principal in trades.

What the Data Tells Us

The Global account offers better value. Most commission-free accounts price EUR/USD between 1.2 and 1.4 pips. Hantec's Global account averaged 1.12 pips. Its 29-cent gold spread is low for a no commission account. Few brokers offer a similar rate.

The Pro account is overall affordable, even with its commission. Pro spreads are a bit wider than those offered by true ECN brokers. The low $4 round-turn commission makes about $6.20 per EUR/USD lot as the total cost, similar to IC Markets in our test.

Gold and index trading costs were also low. The Pro account had a 16-cent gold spread, lower than Tickmill’s, and a lower US500 spread than Moneta’s. Cent accounts are costly. The Cent account starts from 2.2 pips on EUR/USD. It is good to practice small trades, but the costs are too high for serious trading.

Real Cost of a Trade

Beginner Trader (Global Account, EUR/USD)

A trader who places a few trades a week and closes them on the same day pays an average of $11.20 per lot. The Global account has no commission, but its wider spread increases the cost.

Active Day Trader (Pro Account, EUR/USD)

A trader who places several trades each day pays about $6.20 per lot, including the $4 round-turn commission. The Pro account is affordable because of its lower spread as compared to the Global account for EUR/USD.

Gold Trader (Pro vs Global, XAU/USD)

One standard lot of gold (100 oz) costs about $20 on the Pro account, with commission. The Global account costs $29 without commission. One standard lot of gold (100 oz) costs about $20 on the Pro account, including commission.

MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5

Both MetaTrader platforms work as expected. We ran all our execution tests on MT5, and we didn’t observe any disconnection for the full 28 days. MT5 gives you more timeframes, market depth, and a quick strategy tester. MT4 is available for traders who still use older EAs. Money managers can use PAMM and MAM tools on both.

Hantec WebTrader

Hantec launched its own web trading platform in 2026. It is clean and simple. You open a chart, click buy or sell, and set your stop and target in pips or price. It loads fast and doesn’t need a download. It is not designed for heavy analysis. The charts have limited drawing tools than MetaTrader, and you cannot run robots. We used it for quick trades when we were away from our main desk, and it perfectly managed this job.

Hantec Social

Hantec Social is the copy-trading app. You can search the best strategy providers by browsing a list. You can check their past returns, drawdown, and risk score, and then copy them with a chosen amount. You can stop copying or close trades at any time. We copied two providers with $100 each for two weeks. Trades copied the provider’s entries within about one second. One provider made a small gain and the other a small loss. The app itself was easy to use. Past results don’t guarantee future returns, so start with small trades.

Hantec Account Types

Hantec offers three account types: Global, Pro, and Cent. Each has a $10 minimum deposit to get started easily. The main difference is how trading costs are charged.

Learning and testing

Every retail account trades from 0.01 lots and includes Balance Guard.

Global Account (Standard)

The Global account is commission-free, and it offers tighter spreads as compared to other brokers’ standard accounts. Our EUR/USD average was 1.12 pips. It is best for traders who place a few trades a week and want a simple account.

Pro Account (Prime)

The Pro account is our top choice for active traders. It needs the same $10 as Global, so traders can easily switch between accounts. The $2 per-side commission is one of the lowest we have recorded at any broker. Keep in mind that Hantec does not allow very short-term trading.

Institutional and Direct Market Access

Hantec offers direct market access and custom pricing for large clients through its official team. There is no public price list. We did not test it.

Professional Account

Hantec's UK company works with professional clients. You usually need a large trading portfolio, a record of frequent big trades, or relevant work experience to qualify. Professional clients get higher leverage but lose some retail protections.

Cent Account

The Cent account displays your balance in cents. You can place small trade sizes. It is useful for testing a new strategy with real money and low risk. However, its wider spreads make it costly for long-term use.

Demo Account

The demo comes with $10,000 in virtual money and live prices. MT4 demos run for 30 days by default. Support extended our demo access on request.

Swap-Free Trading

Hantec does not offer a dedicated swap-free account for international clients. If you need a swap-free account, contact support before opening an account, as terms may vary by region.

Hantec Markets & Instruments

Hantec lists more than 2,650 instruments across six asset classes. That is a wide range for a broker that offers such simple account options.

Strengths: Hantec offers a wide selection of share CFDs. It allows traders access to buy shares in many companies. Hantec also offers a good range of metals and energy products, including gold, silver, and oil. About 83% of Hantec’s client trading volume came from non-forex products in 2025 and early 2026. Traders focused on gold, oil, and other major markets have plenty of options.

Gaps: Hantec does not offer bonds, options, futures, or soft commodities such as coffee and sugar. It has limited crypto range compared with brokers that specialize in digital assets. This is a clear limit for traders who want a wider choice of markets. Some instruments are only available on MT5, so check the symbol list before choosing MT4 to make sure you can access your preferred markets.

Hantec Execution & Speed

Hantec runs a dealing desk and takes the other side of client trades. It manages its own risk instead of sending every order directly to the market. This setup can speed up trades because orders do not need to go to an outside market. It also means you should watch slippage closely. So we did.

We rank Hantec second for execution speed across all instruments. Only IC Markets was faster. Hantec also stayed fast during the Asian session, when many brokers slow down.

What About Slippage?

Overall, we recorded little slippage. Only 8.9% of our orders filled at a different price than requested. We found it better than most brokers we tested this year. We recorded mostly negative slippage on orders. Negative slippage occurred almost twice as often as positive slippage.

The cost impact was small. We recorded about $11 cost on slippage across 280 orders, or around 4 cents per order. However, we would prefer a more even split between positive and negative slippage. We will check this again in our next update.

Opening an Account with Hantec – Step-by-Step

Hantec’s account-opening process was quick in our test. Our account was registered in 8 minutes. The broker completed our identification process in 2 hours and 10 minutes on a weekday afternoon. The process includes a few standard checks before you can fund your account and start trading.

Step 1: Register

Visit the Hantec Markets website and click Open Live Account. Enter your name, email, country, and phone number, then create a password.

Step 2: Enter Your Details

Provide your address, date of birth, job, and income. Your country determines which Hantec entity you join, so make sure you submit correct information.

Step 3: Complete the Suitability Check

Answer a short quiz about your trading experience and CFDs. Hantec may offer lower leverage if you have limited experience.

Step 4: Verify Your Identity

Upload your passport or national ID and a recent utility bill or bank statement. You may also need to take a selfie.

Step 5: Choose Your Account

Select Global, Pro, or Cent, then choose your trading platform and base currency.

Step 6: Fund Your Account

Deposit at least $10 to get started. Our card deposit arrived in 4 minutes, and Hantec emailed our MT5 login details straight away.

Tip: Choose your base currency carefully. Hantec charges a 0.6% conversion fee whenever your deposit uses a different currency from your account.

Hantec Deposit & Withdrawal

Hantec does not charge fees on deposits or withdrawals. Payment providers and banks may still take a cut, and the 0.6% conversion fee applies if currencies differ.

Hantec does not charge its own deposit or withdrawal fees, but payment providers and banks may still deduct charges. A 0.6% currency conversion fee also applies when your deposit currency differs from your account’s base currency. The broker processes most card and e-wallet deposits within minutes. Bank transfers can take a few business days. Check the payment methods available in your client portal before making a deposit.

The Mauritius entity offers USD, EUR, GBP, and NGN accounts. Other Hantec entities support more currencies, including AUD, CAD, CHF, PLN, and AED. The naira account option may help Nigerian traders avoid currency conversion fees.

Hantec Leverage

Hantec’s leverage depends on the entity you join and the market you trade. Its Mauritius entity offers up to 1:500 on major forex pairs. Other entities offer lower leverage or have different trading conditions. The broker offers different leverage across gold, indices, shares, and crypto CFDs. Check the limits for your preferred markets before opening a position.

We tested support over two weeks and contacted the team with questions about trading rules, fees, swap-free accounts, and withdrawals. We also tried live chat at 3 am UK time to check whether they help overnight. An agent replied, so the 24/7 service was available during our test.

Live chat took an average of 2 minutes and 12 seconds to reply. Agents were polite, they usually gave clear and accurate answers. However, we encountered two cases where agents closed the chat shortly after replying. They left us unable to ask follow-up questions. We had to open a new chat and explain the issue again.

The swap-free question also highlighted a limitation in support. The live chat agent could not confirm the terms and referred us to the account team by email. We had to wait for an email reply to get the information we needed.

Hantec Education & Research

Hantec offers useful market research through InsightPro and Trading Central, but its educational content is limited. InsightPro provides AI-generated trade ideas, analyst views, market sentiment, news, and daily signal summaries. The Learning Hub covers trading basics well; however, it doesn’t offer detailed educational material for advanced traders.

InsightPro: The Standout Tool

InsightPro is free for account holders. It combines AI-generated trade ideas with analyst views. It also offers market sentiment, news, and an economic calendar. You can get a daily signal summary by email or Telegram.

Each idea shows an entry, stop, and target, plus a short reason. Over our test period, we tracked 20 InsightPro ideas on EUR/USD and gold without trading them. Eleven reached their targets first, while nine hit their stop-loss levels first. The results were close to 50/50. Use the signals for ideas and market context, not as a reliable source of profits.

Hantec also gives clients access to Trading Central research on MetaTrader, with technical views on major markets.

Learning Hub

The Learning Hub has written beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels guides. The beginner articles are clear and cover topics such as pips, leverage, risk-reward, and position sizing.

The advanced section is limited, with only a few articles on indicators such as Bollinger Bands and Fibonacci. There are few videos, and has no structured course and quizzes. Hantec’s educational content is limited of what education-focused brokers offer.

Our view: Beginners will learn the basics here. Intermediate traders will find InsightPro more useful than the Learning Hub.

Hantec Mobile Trading

You have three mobile choices at Hantec:

  1. Hantec Mobile, the broker's own app for iOS and Android
  2. Hantec Social, the copy-trading app
  3. MetaTrader 4 and 5 apps, for traders who want the classic tools

We used Hantec Mobile as our main phone app. It combines trading, deposits, withdrawals, and InsightPro ideas in one place. It offers basic but clear charts. You can place a trade with a stop and target in three taps. You can log in using Face ID or your fingerprint.

We placed 35 orders through Hantec Mobile during London hours. They filled in 70 ms on average, just 7 ms slower than our MT5 desktop baseline.

Hantec offers average overnight costs. Holding positions is affordable than at Moneta and Switch, but a bit more expensive than at IC Markets and Tickmill. It would cost you about $16 more on Hantec if you hold a one-lot EUR/USD long for 20 nights as compared to IC Markets. Hantec’s tight Pro spreads and fair swap rates suit swing traders, though its ban on scalping limits short-term trading.

Hantec VPS Hosting & Algorithmic Trading

VPS

Hantec does not offer a free VPS to international clients. You will need to rent a VPS from a third-party provider If you want to run EAs 24/4. A basic Forex VPS in London or New York usually costs $20 to $40 a month. Ask support for the server location before choosing, so you can pick a VPS close to it.

Expert Advisors and Strategy Rules

MT4 and MT5 both support Expert Advisors. However, Hantec limits how EAs can be used:

  • Scalping is not allowed. Hantec may cancel trades held for very short periods.
  • Hantec bans high-frequency trading and inactivity arbitrage.
  • Hantec may review trades placed around major news releases, especially if traders try to profit from price delays.

Hantec allows trend-following, swing, grid, and position-trading EAs. We tested a simple four-hour trend EA for two weeks without any issues. Money managers get PAMM and MAM tools on both MetaTrader platforms. We did not find a public trading API for custom software.

Bottom line: Hantec suits slower algorithmic strategies. Scalping bots and high-frequency systems are ideal for ECN brokers that allow these strategies.

Head-to-Head Notes

Hantec vs Moneta Markets: Hantec has lower trading costs, faster execution, and a $10 minimum deposit, compared with $50 at the other broker. Moneta allows scalping, uses no dealing desk, and offers a free VPS. Pick Hantec for swing trading and gold. Pick Moneta for scalping and EAs.

Hantec vs Switch Markets: Hantec is best for cost, speed, regulation, and history. Switch wins on free tools such as its VPS and EA builder. For most traders, Hantec is the safer and affordable choice.

Hantec vs Tickmill: Hantec and Tickmill are similar in cost and speed. Tickmill suits short-term traders better because it allows scalping and does not use a dealing desk. Hantec has a lower $10 minimum deposit and offers Hantec Social, which is ideal for beginners.

Hantec vs Pepperstone: Pepperstone offers no-dealing-desk execution, native TradingView, and tier-1 protection in more regions. Hantec has a $10 minimum deposit, lower Pro account commission, and a simple copy-trading app for beginners.

Hantec vs IC Markets: IC Markets is much faster, allows scalping, and has similar EUR/USD trading costs. Hantec requires a smaller deposit and offers an easier app experience for beginners.

Not Suitable For

  • Scalpers – very short-term trading is banned, and profits can be cancelled.
  • High-frequency and latency-arbitrage algo traders – these strategies are not allowed.
  • Traders who insist on no-dealing-desk execution – Hantec takes the other side of your trades.
  • International clients who need a compensation scheme – the Mauritius entity doesn’t offer any.
  • UK retail traders – the FCA company no longer accepts retail clients.
  • US residents – Hantec does not accept them.
  • Traders who need a swap-free account by default – Not available for international clients.
  • EA traders who want a free VPS – you must rent your own.

Choose Hantec Markets If… / Don't Choose If…

Choose Hantec Markets If:

  • You want very low trading costs and can start with as little as $10
  • You trade gold, oil, or indices and hold positions for hours or days
  • You value a broker with more than three decades of history
  • You want to copy other traders through a simple app
  • You like free research and trade ideas, such as InsightPro
  • You live in Nigeria and want a naira account, or in Asia or Latin America and want local-language support

Don't Choose Hantec Markets If:

  • Your strategy depends on scalping or very short trades that open and close within seconds
  • You want a pure ECN or STP broker with no dealing desk
  • You need FCA or ASIC protection but do not live in the UK or Australia
  • You want deep, structured trading education
  • You run EAs and expect the broker to host them for free

Final Verdict

Hantec Markets performed better than we expected. Our tests showed that it offers low trading costs and fast execution. Beginners can also start with just $10.

The Pro account matched the lowest all-in EUR/USD trading cost we recorded this year. The Global account offered some of the best commission-free spreads we have seen. Hantec offered low gold spreads. We recorded quick trade execution. Hantec processed all three withdrawals without problems.

Hantec also has a strong 35 years of group history. It offers Hantec Social copy trading, and free InsightPro research. However, it has some clear limitations as well. Hantec runs a dealing desk, bans scalping, and offers no free VPS. Most international clients join the Mauritius entity, so the FCA and ASIC names in the group do not protect them. Hantec offers limited advanced learning resources.

Hantec is ideal for beginners who want to start small and learn through copy trading. It suits swing traders who hold gold, oil, or index positions for hours or days. Cost-conscious traders who do not need to scalp can choose Hantec. For them, Hantec is one of the best-value brokers we have tested this year.

Scalpers, high-frequency algo traders, and anyone who wants top-tier protection outside the UK or Australia should look somewhere else.
