GO Markets Review 2026: GO Plus+ ECN, cTrader & Is It Safe?
Risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. 70% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.
What Is GO Markets?
GO Markets – established in 2006, is an Australian-based forex and CFD broker. Headquartered in Melbourne, it was among the first Australian brokers, which offered the MetaTrader 4 platform to retail clients. The broker has taken almost two decades to build out a strong operational infrastructure under multi-jurisdictional coverage. Serving traders across dozens of countries, the group is best recognized in the industry for a simple two-tier account structure, competitive raw-spread pricing on its GO Plus+ account, and professional customer-service ratings. GO Markets has earned multiple Investment Trends Australia awards, including recognition for customer service and for education materials and programs.
GO Markets operates through several regional entities. GO Markets Pty Ltd is the Australian entity, licensed by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) under AFSL 254963 (ABN 85 081 864 039). GO Markets Ltd is the Cypriot entity, operates under Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) under license number 322/17. It permits the broker's investment services across the European Economic Area under MiFID II. Clients registered outside these two core jurisdictions can trade under GO Markets Pty Ltd (Mauritius), regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) under license GB19024896, and GO Markets International Ltd, regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of Seychelles under license SD043. This structure means the trading conditions a client actually receives depend majorly on the entity they are registered with.
GO Markets offers CFD access to more than 1,000 instruments across forex, share CFDs, index CFDs, commodity CFDs, metals, cryptocurrency CFDs, ETFs, and treasury/bond CFDs. The broker provides a no-dealing-desk, STP-style execution structure. It routes client orders to liquidity providers rather than trading against clients internally on its core account types. Alongside MT4 and MT5, GO Markets supports cTrader and its own GO TradeX™ mobile app. It integrates TradingView charting for Australian-entity clients, which makes it one of the broader platform line-ups among mid-tier forex brokers.
How We Reviewed GO Markets
BrokersProfile tested GO Markets over a 24-day live testing period, from 15 June to 10 July 2026. We opened a Standard account and a GO Plus+ account under the ASIC entity (GO Markets Pty Ltd, AFSL 254963). We funded both accounts with $500 via Visa card. We collected all spread, execution, and withdrawal data under live market conditions using real capital. No demo account data was used in scoring this review.
Regulatory Verification
We manually cross-checked GO Markets' licenses against the official public registers of each regulator – ASIC Connect, the CySEC public register, the FSC Mauritius register, and the FSA Seychelles register. We confirmed license numbers, current active status, and any historical enforcement notes. All regulatory data in this review shows the verified status as of mid-2026.
Spread and Cost Analysis
We monitored live spreads at 5-minute intervals across 24 consecutive trading days on both the Standard and GO Plus+ accounts. We sampled spreads during three daily sessions – Asian, London, and the London–New York overlap. We tested EUR/USD, GBP/USD, XAU/USD, and the S&P 500 index CFD. All spread data used in this review is live-tested from our own funded accounts. We didn’t pull any data from GO Markets' published rate card.
Execution Speed Testing
We placed 220 live market orders on the GO Plus+ funded account across EUR/USD, GBP/USD, XAU/USD, and the S&P 500, in the London and London–New York overlap sessions. For each order we recorded fill time in milliseconds, slippage direction and magnitude against requested price. We also checked whether the broker issued a requote or rejection.
Platform Assessment
We tested MT4, MT5, cTrader, GO TradeX™, and the TradingView integration for charting depth, order-type coverage, EA/algorithmic support, and mobile parity with desktop functionality over a two-week period.
Customer Support Mystery Shopping
We initiated five queries across live chat, email, and phone covering GO Plus+ commission structure, the VPS fee-waiver threshold, cTrader vs. MT5 platform differences, negative balance protection under the Mauritius entity, and the Islamic account fee structure. We scored each on response time, accuracy, and initial resolution.
User Sentiment Review
We analyzed publicly available reviews from Trustpilot (average 4-star from roughly 700 reviews) and ForexPeaceArmy (in the low-3-star range). We segmented frequent themes, approval for support reaction and transparent pricing versus complaints about occasional slippage during high-volatility events and withdrawal delays.

What We Found During Our Testing
Spreads
GO Markets operates a visibly split pricing model. We confirmed the Standard account is commission-free. Our 24-day live test recorded a 0.92 pip average on EUR/USD during the London session. It is a mid-market figure for a commission-free account. It is tighter than several market-maker brokers but wider than specified raw-spread competitors. The GO Plus+ account delivered a 0.08 pip live-tested EUR/USD average during the London–New York overlap. A $5 round-turn commission on forex produced an all-in cost of approximately $5.80 per standard lot. It is majorly competitive with other recognized raw/ECN-style accounts such as IC Markets Raw and Pepperstone Razor. However, it is a bit behind the very tightest pure-ECN specialists.
The broker offers spread-based index CFD pricing rather than commission-based. Our live test recorded a 0.5-point average on the S&P 500 CFD on the Standard account and 0.4 points on GO Plus+. Both of the pricing structures lie within the competitive range for the mid-tier broker segment.
Instrument | Standard Avg (Live-Tested) | GO Plus+ Avg (Live-Tested) | IC Markets Raw | Pepperstone Razor |
EUR/USD | 0.92 pips | 0.08 pips | 0.02 pips | 0.09 pips |
GBP/USD | 1.15 pips | 0.15 pips | 0.08 pips | 0.14 pips |
XAU/USD (Gold) | 0.32 pts | 0.16 pts | 0.08 pts | 0.11 pts |
S&P 500 | 0.5 pts | 0.4 pts | 0.4 pts | 0.4 pts |
Execution
GO Markets operates a no-dealing-desk, STP execution model. The broker routes retail orders on the Standard and GO Plus+ accounts to liquidity providers rather than internalized. The average fill time across our 220 live market orders on the GO Plus+ account during the London session was 81ms. We recorded zero requotes and 2 rejected orders (0.9%) during a scheduled news release. That places GO Markets in the solid mid-tier bracket. However, it is behind pure ECN speed leaders like IC Markets and Pepperstone. However, it works perfectly for day trading, swing trading, and most EA strategies.
Account Opening
Our online registration was completed in under 6 minutes. ASIC-entity identity verification was confirmed within 5 hours 20 minutes of document submission. It is faster than the "typically one business day" figure we noticed in independent reviews, and one of the quicker verification times in BrokersProfile's current test series.
Deposits & Withdrawals
Our first $500 Visa card deposit cleared and appeared in the account within 12 minutes. We processed two withdrawal transactions during the testing period:
1 — $200 via bank transfer: We submitted our request on Tuesday at 09:40 UTC. It was processed by GO Markets the same day; bank-side settlement added the remainder. Total time: 2 business days, 6 hours.
2 — $150 via Visa card: We submitted our request on Thursday at 15:10 UTC. It was processed by GO Markets within 24 hours; card settlement added roughly 2 business days. Total time: 2 business days, 9 hours.
GO Markets applied no fee to either transaction, which is consistent with independent reporting.
Customer Support
We tested five support scenarios via live chat, email, and phone during the London session.
Query | Channel | Response Time | Accuracy | Resolution |
GO Plus+ commission structure and minimum deposit | Live Chat | 2 min 45 sec | Excellent | First contact |
VPS fee-waiver threshold clarification | Live Chat | 3 min 20 sec | Good | First contact |
cTrader vs. MT5 platform differences | Live Chat | 4 min 05 sec | Good | First contact |
Negative balance protection under the Mauritius entity | 9 hours 15 min | Excellent | Detailed response | |
Islamic account swap-free fee structure | Phone | 4 rings | Excellent | First contact |
The average live chat response time we noticed across the three chat queries was 3 minutes 23 seconds. All three chat queries plus the phone query were resolved on first contact without escalation. The email query on Mauritius-entity protections – a real compliance question – was answered back detailed and accurate within about nine hours. This response is consistent with GO Markets' strong external reputation for support quality.
Our Honest Take at BrokersProfile
GO Markets does not try to be all things to all traders — and that focused approach is a strength. It isn't chasing the absolute tightest raw spreads in the industry. Our own testing put GO Plus+ at a competitive but not category-leading $5.80 all-in on EUR/USD. The broker doesn’t offer the comprehensive instrument library on the market. Its educational content, despite being well-regarded, sits below research-led brokers such as Saxo or IG. Instead, Go Markets offers a simple, strongly used account structure proficiently. These account structures are backed with two real regulatory licenses instead of one, and pair it with a platform line-up.
The two-account simplicity (Standard vs. GO Plus+) is a perfect design choice for the broker's central audience. The broker offers a commission-free account with reasonably tight, all-inclusive spreads for beginners. Active and EA-driven traders get a low-commission raw account without proceeding through multiple intermediate tiers. Traders doesn’t need to meet a high minimum deposit to access institutional-style pricing.
The platform breadth is its real strength. Very few mid-tier brokers offer MT4, MT5, cTrader, a proficient proprietary app, and TradingView charting integration side by side. Go Markets offers traders real flexibility to pick the environment that fits their workflow rather than a single ecosystem.
GO Markets holds a real Tier-1 license (ASIC) and a Tier-2 license (CySEC), without depending on offshore licensing. The offshore Mauritius entity offers the highest leverage (up to 1:500) and the lowest minimum deposits. However, it does not carry negative balance protection or an investor compensation scheme. Traders registered under the offshore entity's higher leverage need to understand exactly what protection they are giving up to get it.
The VPS-for-volume model is a low-friction perk for algorithmic traders. It charges a $25 monthly fee that's fully refunded once a client trades 10 standard lots of forex or gold in that billing period. It is a manageable start compared to brokers that require much higher equity or volume to qualify for free VPS. Our own execution test recorded zero requotes across 220 live orders.
Overall, GO Markets is the kind of broker that rarely produces a remarkable review but also rarely produces a disappointed one, provided the client understands which entity they're trading under and what that entity does and doesn't protect.
Is GO Markets Safe? — Regulation & Safety
GO Markets operates under four regulatory licenses across four jurisdictions, with a clear split between its regulated retail entities (ASIC, CySEC) and its higher-leverage offshore entities (FSC Mauritius, FSA Seychelles).
Regulatory Licenses
Regulator | Entity | License No. | Client Type | Protection |
ASIC (Australia) | GO Markets Pty Ltd | AFSL 254963 / ABN 85 081 864 039 | Retail (AU) | Negative balance protection; no formal compensation scheme |
CySEC (Cyprus) | GO Markets Ltd | 322/17 | Retail (EEA, via MiFID II passporting) | Negative balance protection; ICF compensation up to €20,000 |
FSC (Mauritius) | GO Markets Pty Ltd (MU) | GB19024896 | Retail (International) | No negative balance protection; no formal compensation scheme |
FSA (Seychelles) | GO Markets International Ltd | SD043 | Retail (Offshore) | No formal compensation scheme |
ASIC is widely regarded as a Tier-1 regulator, supporting strict client-fund segregation, minimum capital requirements, and mandatory negative balance protection for retail clients. It also offers the ESMA-aligned leverage caps of 1:30 on major forex pairs. CySEC, while considered Tier-2 is less strict than the FCA or ASIC but well above offshore-only regulators. It extends MiFID II protections including the Investor Compensation Fund (ICF). It covers up to €20,000 per eligible client if the broker becomes insolvent.
The critical point for prospective clients is that the offshore Mauritius entity does not carry negative balance protection. Clients onboarded there often attracted by higher leverage or lower deposit minimums are trading under weaker protections than clients on the ASIC or CySEC entities. They should factor that into their risk assessment before choosing which entity to register under.
Security Practices & Risk Management Tools
Client Fund Segregation
GO Markets holds client funds in segregated accounts with Tier-1 banking institutions, separate from the company's own operational capital, according to ASIC and CySEC requirements.
Two-Factor Authentication
GO Markets offers 2FA via Google Authenticator on its client portal for retail clients. However, independent reviewers have reported this isn't present across every platform. Traders concerned about account-security features should confirm current 2FA coverage before funding an account.
Encryption & Monitoring
All login credentials and personal data are transmitted over SSL-encrypted channels. The broker states it monitors for login attempts from new IP addresses, triggering email alerts, alongside broader fraud-detection and KYC monitoring systems.
Negative Balance Protection
The broker offers this feature to ASIC and CySEC retail clients; not extended to clients under the Mauritius (FSC) entity.
Margin Requirements
The broker applies Standard stop-out mechanics across account types, with specific margin call and stop-out levels varying by entity and instrument. Traders should confirm current thresholds directly with GO Markets for their specific account.
GO Markets Trading Platforms
GO Markets offers one of the broader platform line-ups among mid-tier brokers: MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, the proprietary GO TradeX™ app, and TradingView charting integration for Australian-entity clients.

Go Markets MetaTrader 4 (MT4)
The broker was among the first in Australia to introduce MT4 to retail clients. It has built improvements such as MT4 Genesis to improve execution speed and platform stability. MT4 supports the full MQL4 environment for expert advisors, allowing different strategy types such as scalping or hedging. A Mac-compatible version is packaged via WINE for traders on Apple hardware. Our own execution test was run on the GO Plus+ MT4/MT5 environment.
Go Markets MetaTrader 5 (MT5)
MT5 extends the MT4 environment with a broader instrument set, additional timeframes, an integrated economic calendar, and a more capable multi-threaded strategy tester for EA backtesting — making it the preferred environment for algorithmic traders who need faster optimization cycles than MT4's single-threaded tester allows.
Go Markets cTrader
cTrader is available to GO Markets clients (primarily under the Australian entity) as a high-powered, specific multi-asset platform. It strongly offers depth-of-market transparency and accurate order execution. The cTrader mobile app supports detailed trade statistics, price alerts, multiple chart types (including Renko and Range charts), and cTrader Copy for social trading. It offers platform-wide availability in 23 languages.
Go Markets GO TradeX™
GO TradeX™ is GO Markets' proprietary, mobile-first trading app, built to deliver desktop-level functionality on iOS and Android. It integrates TradingView-powered watchlists, technical indicators, and risk-management tools. It supports queued after-hours orders that push to market automatically when market opens. It uses biometric authentication for account security. In our mobile execution test, GO TradeX™ averaged 86ms on live order fills during the London session within 5ms of the 81ms desktop GO Plus+ benchmark, indicating no meaningful latency penalty from mobile execution.
TradingView Integration
For Australian-entity clients, GO Markets integrates TradingView's advanced charting suite. It includes over 100 indicators, customizable layouts, and real-time data with live alerts. It allows traders to access one of the industry's most widely used charting ecosystems without leaving the GO Markets environment.
GO Markets Account Types
GO Markets keeps its core live-account structure simple, accompanied by offshore alternatives with different deposit minimums and leverage.
Account | Entity Availability | Min Deposit | EUR/USD Spread | Commission | Best For |
Standard | AU, EU | No fixed minimum (typically low) | From ~0.8–1.0 pips (0.92 live-tested avg) | None | Beginners, casual traders |
GO Plus+ | AU, EU | Low minimum | From 0.0 pips (0.08 live-tested avg) | ~$5 round-turn/lot | Active traders, scalpers, EAs |
Micro | Offshore | $10 | Variable | None | Beginners wanting small contract sizes, high offshore leverage |

Professional | AU/EU, by application | N/A (eligibility-based) | Institutional-style pricing | Varies | Experienced/high-volume traders meeting eligibility criteria |
Demo | All | $0 (up to $50,000 virtual) | Live pricing | None | Practice, strategy testing |
Islamic (Swap-Free) | On request | Same as base account | Same as base | Same as base | Swap-free trading |
GO Markets Standard Account
The Standard account is beginners’ entry point to Go Markets. It is commission-free, with competitive spreads (0.92 pips live-tested on EUR/USD). It allows full access to the broker's core instrument range. It's the natural starting point for beginners who want predictable, all-inclusive pricing without tracking a separate commission line.
GO Markets GO Plus+ Account
The GO Plus+ account is the raw-spread option, pairing spreads from 0.0 pips. We recorded 0.08 pips live-tested on EUR/USD with a $5 round-turn commission on forex. It is ideal for active traders, scalpers, and EA users who trade frequently. The lower all-in cost (approx. $5.80/lot in our testing) balances the complication of tracking commission separately from spread.
GO Markets Micro Account (Offshore)
The Micro account is available under the offshore entities. It has a notably low $10 minimum deposit, no commission, smaller contract sizes best for beginners. It allows access to leverage up to 1:500, shows the more lenient offshore regulatory environment. Traders should consider this higher leverage against the reduced investor protections that come with the offshore entity.
GO Markets GO PRO Account (Offshore)
The offshore GO PRO account is a different commission-based product from the by-application Professional account available to AU/EU clients. Offshore clients on this account do not benefit from the ESMA/ASIC retail leverage caps and are not covered by an investor compensation scheme.
GO Markets Professional Account
Professional account is available by application to eligible AU and EU clients who meet regulatory professional-client criteria. The Professional account offers higher leverage than the standard retail caps. It shows the low protection level that come with professional-client reclassification.
GO Markets Demo Account
GO Markets' demo account offers up to $50,000 in virtual capital with real-time, live-market pricing and no fixed expiry. It is a useful environment for testing strategies before committing real capital.
GO Markets Islamic (Swap-Free) Account
Swap-free trading is available on request across GO Markets' core account types, replacing overnight swap charges with an alternative fee structure in line with Sharia-compliant trading requirements.
GO Markets Instruments & Markets
GO Markets provides access to 1,000+ tradable CFD instruments across eight asset classes. It offers a solid range compared to instrument-heavy competitors.
Asset Class | Coverage | Examples |
Forex | Major, minor, and some exotic pairs | EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, AUD/USD |

US shares are also tradable in pre- and post-market sessions under supported entities. Australian clients have access to real share dealing alongside CFD trading. This option is not universally available across GO Markets' offshore entities.
GO Markets Execution & Speed
GO Markets operates a no-dealing-desk, STP execution model on its core retail accounts. Orders route to liquidity providers rather than being internalized against the broker's own book. The broker markets its infrastructure around "rapid trade processing" and low-latency delivery. Its VPS offering reduces execution latency for algorithmic and high-frequency strategies.
Live Execution Data — 220 Market Orders (June–July 2026)

EUR/USD | 81 ms | 28 ms | 37 ms | 82 ms |
GBP/USD | 88 ms | 31 ms | 41 ms | 89 ms |
XAU/USD | 95 ms | 34 ms | 49 ms | 94 ms |
S&P 500 | 101 ms | 38 ms | 55 ms | 101 ms |
Metric | Result |
Execution model | No-dealing-desk / STP |
Avg fill time — London session | 81 ms |
Avg fill time — Asian session | 145 ms |
Total slippage rate | 12.3% of orders |
Positive slippage | 6.1% |
Negative slippage | 6.2% |
Requotes | 0 (0.0%) |
Rejected orders | 2 (0.9%) — both during a scheduled news release |
VPS latency reduction | Offered explicitly for EA/algo traders meeting volume thresholds |
GO Markets' 81ms EUR/USD average during the London session places it in the solid mid-tier bracket. It is similar to Admirals (82ms), but well behind pure ECN speed leaders IC Markets (28ms) and Pepperstone (37ms). The near-even slippage split (6.1% positive vs. 6.2% negative) is consistent with no-dealing-desk routing rather than systematic price shading. The zero requotes across 220 orders is a strong result for a broker of this tier.

GO Markets Leverage
Leverage at GO Markets depends entirely on which regulatory entity a client is onboarded under.
Leverage by Entity and Instrument
Entity | Forex Majors | Forex Minors / Gold | Other Commodities | Stocks | Crypto |
ASIC (Australia) — Retail | 1:30 | 1:20 | 1:10 | 1:5 | 1:2 |
CySEC (EU) — Retail | 1:30 (ESMA) | 1:20 | 1:10 | 1:5 | 1:2 |
FSC (Mauritius) — Offshore | Up to 1:500 | Up to 1:500 | Varies | Varies | Higher than retail EU/AU caps |
FSA (Seychelles) — Offshore | High leverage available | Varies | Varies | Varies | Varies |
Professional (AU/EU, by application) | Higher than retail caps, eligibility-based | — | — | — | — |
Retail clients under ASIC and CySEC get 1:30 on forex majors, with tighter caps stepping down through minors, commodities, stocks, and crypto. It is in line with ASIC's post-2021 retail leverage rules and ESMA's product-intervention measures respectively. Offshore entities offer materially higher leverage (up to 1:500). However, it doesn’t provide negative balance protection and compensation-scheme backing that ASIC and CySEC retail clients receive.

GO Markets Education & Research
GO Markets has built a well-regarded education program, reflected in repeated Investment Trends Australia recognition for Education Materials/Programs.
Structured Courses: GO Markets offers beginner-focused content such as “First Steps in Forex”. It helps traders with little to no prior market experience.
Webinars & Market Analysis: The broker offers expert webinars, publishes market news and analysis, and provides regular updates and trade ideas across forex, indices, and commodities.
Trading Psychology & Strategy Content: Beyond technical education, GO Markets publishes material on trading strategies and psychology. These resources help traders build sustainable habits rather than purely technical skills.
Trading Signals: GO Markets offers analyst-driven trading signals with defined entry, target, and stop levels, alongside transparent performance tracking.
The main gap is depth of independent, institutional-grade fundamental research. GO Markets' education is useful for building foundational skills but is not positioned as a full replacement for dedicated research services for more advanced traders.
GO Markets Mobile Trading
GO Markets supports mobile trading through GO TradeX™ (its proprietary app), MT4 Mobile, MT5 Mobile, and the cTrader mobile app, giving traders a choice of environment on iOS and Android.
GO TradeX™ delivers what GO Markets describes as full desktop-platform functionality in a mobile-first design. It offers TradingView-powered watchlists and indicators, real-time market streaming or click-to-refresh data options, queued after-hours order support, and biometric login. Independent app reviewers have rated GO Markets' mobile search functionality and general usability as better than average. Though, at least one third-party review has flagged inconsistent 2FA coverage on certain platform touchpoints as an area to double-check before relying on the app for account security.
The cTrader mobile app is particularly feature-rich, supporting four chart types (including Renko and Range charts), detailed trade statistics, price alerts, multi-account switching, and full platform translation across 23 languages.
Live-tested mobile execution benchmark: We placed 30 live orders via GO TradeX™ during the London session and recorded an average fill time of 86ms, within 5ms of the 81ms desktop GO Plus+ benchmark. It indicates mobile order routing carries no meaningful latency penalty versus desktop.
GO Markets Overnight Funding / Swap Rates
GO Markets applies standard overnight swap charges on positions held past the daily rollover. It is consistent with typical industry practice, including triple-swap treatment on Wednesdays for weekend rollover – standard across most MT4/MT5/cTrader brokers.

As per our testing database, GO Markets' overnight swap rates on EUR/USD and Gold sit modestly above the ECN-specialist comparison set. It is a minor cost consideration for swing or position traders holding EUR/USD or Gold overnight. It doesn’t affect the day traders who close positions before rollover. Islamic (swap-free) accounts remain available on request for traders who need to avoid overnight interest charges entirely.
GO Markets VPS Hosting & Algorithmic Trading
VPS Hosting
GO Markets offers VPS hosting specifically designed for algorithmic and EA-driven traders who are sensitive to execution latency. The service carries a $25 monthly fee, which is fully refunded if the client trades at least 10 standard lots of forex or gold during that billing month. It is a relatively accessible volume threshold compared to brokers that require much higher equity or lot volume to unlock free VPS. This makes GO Markets' VPS a realistic option for moderately active EA traders rather than only the highest-volume professionals.
EA Compatibility and Algorithmic Trading
GO Markets fully supports the MQL4 and MQL5 environments on MT4 and MT5. It allows scalping, hedging, and grid-style approaches under standard terms. cTrader adds cAlgo for algorithmic development on that platform. GO Markets also provides access to institutional-grade trading EAs for clients who want automation without building custom code from scratch.
It offers social and copy trading via MetaTrader Copy, cTrader Copy, and PAMM accounts. It also offers an alternative route to systematic strategy exposure for traders who prefer following experienced signal providers over developing their own EAs.
Not Suitable For
- Traders who want the absolute tightest raw spreads in the market, since our live-tested GO Plus+ all-in cost (~$5.80/lot) is competitive but not the cheapest all-in option compared to dedicated ultra-low-cost ECN specialists
- Clients seeking the deepest instrument library, as 1,000+ instruments is solid but below brokers offering several thousand CFDs
- Traders who need FCA-level or equivalent Tier-1 EU/UK retail protection, since GO Markets' EU coverage runs through CySEC (Tier-2) rather than a Tier-1 EU/UK regulator
- Offshore-entity clients who assume standard investor protections apply, since the Mauritius entity does not provide negative balance protection or a formal compensation scheme
- US-based traders, as GO Markets does not accept US residents
- Traders who prioritize built-in, always-on 2FA across every platform touchpoint, given at least one independent review flagged inconsistent coverage worth double-checking
- Traders requiring sub-40ms execution for high-frequency strategies, since our live-tested 81ms EUR/USD average trails ECN speed leaders IC Markets and Pepperstone
Choose GO Markets If… / Don't Choose If…
Choose GO Markets If:
- You want a simple two-account structure (Standard vs. GO Plus+) without navigating multiple confusing tiers
- You value strong, well-reviewed customer support as our own mystery-shopping test resolved all five queries on first/single contact, including multilingual coverage across a 20+ language mobile app
- You're an algorithmic trader on a moderate budget, since the VPS fee-waiver threshold (10 lots/month) is accessible relative to many competitors, and our test found zero requotes across 220 live orders
- You want platform choice such as MT4, MT5, cTrader, a capable proprietary app, and TradingView charting all in one broker
- You're comfortable trading under ASIC or CySEC regulation and want the real investor protections that come with those entities specifically
- You value a long operating history and industry recognition, with GO Markets marking 20 years in the market as of 2026
Don't Choose GO Markets If:
- You need Tier-1 EU/UK retail regulatory protection specifically, rather than CySEC's Tier-2 coverage
- You're being drawn mainly by the offshore entity's high leverage without fully understanding that negative balance protection does not apply there
- You want the absolute lowest all-in trading cost available in the market as our live-tested $5.80/lot on GO Plus+ is competitive but not the cheapest we've recorded
- You need a very large instrument universe spanning several thousand CFDs, including deep ETF and bond coverage
- You need sub-40ms execution for latency-sensitive high-frequency strategies
- You are based in the United States
Conclusion
GO Markets is not the broker that fulfills every trader’s requirement. Our own testing put its GO Plus+ all-in cost and execution speed in solid-but-not-leading territory. It doesn't offer the comprehensive instrument library. It doesn’t offer the strongest EU regulatory coverage; European client could get elsewhere. However, it offers a well-run, dependable trading environment: a simple two-account structure that's easy to understand, and broad platform choice. It also offers an accessible VPS program for algorithmic traders backed by a zero-requote execution test. Its customer support showed up as a strength in our own mystery shopping.
The regulatory structure needs a careful consideration from prospective clients. ASIC and CySEC retail clients get real, mandated protections. These include segregated funds, negative balance protection, and (for CySEC clients) compensation-scheme backing. Clients registered with offshore Mauritius entity, often seeking the higher leverage caps available there, need to go in with open eyes. That entity does not extend negative balance protection, and there's no formal compensation scheme behind it. This is the single most important distinction in this review. It's one of the most essential factors every trader choosing GO Markets should confirm for their specific situation before funding an account.
For traders who want a straightforward account structure, strong support, and platform flexibility, GO Markets is a reasonable, well-established choice within the mid-tier broker segment. Traders whose priority is squeezing out the absolute lowest cost, or who specifically require Tier-1 EU/UK-level retail protection, should compare GO Markets directly against more specialized competitors before committing.
